This song has special meaning for me.

In 2001, I was in the hospital for 12 days. I had a serious abdominal infection, and I could've died. They would not release me (I had major surgery) until my white blood cell count was down. I finally was released, and as my father was in the drug store picking my supplies up, this song came on,. and the song sounded so good on the car stereo. I felt like I got out of prison after 20 years, and hearing music for the first time in years. It was heaven!! This was one of the songs, I always listen to the oldies station in the car, unless they have sports on, or talk.

Oh, I want to add, I did not grow up with that version.

My Uncle gave me a 45 of "Rhythm Of the Rain" by Gary Lewis and the Playboys. I was a kid at the time. He gave me and my parents lots of records.

That was the only version I was aware of, and was my favorite.

However, when I heard the Cascades version on the car radio (I heard the song on CD before) I became a fan of the Cascades version.
