im wondering if you can help or figure out how to make hal LEARN FROM or (Save in RELEVANT *.BRN files) from Comma seperated DATA FILES. such as web data or sql data or output from a database or spreadsheet etc.

ie:
USER: hal open new file on topic, PLANETS, please

(typical file contents)
Planet : saturn : distance :2,000,000,000,000 miles : satalites : 3.
Planet : Mars : distance :1,000,000,000,000 miles : satalites : 0.
eof.

Hal:i have finished reading the file.
User: what is the DISTANCE of the PLANET SATURN.
HAL: the DISTANCE of the PLANET SATURN is 2,000,000,000,000 miles

this would greatly improve HAl's learning capablity.
and Reference capabilities.

Thanking ALL IN Wishfull Thought.

PS. i have posted this query before BUT no reply.

ALways available for comment.

HI THERE

I used ziggys conciouness and there was a role reversal.

eg.
spydaz: what is your name
HAL: your name is hal and my name is spydaz

but alltogether loving the scripts....

hal NOW lets you know that he is learning....

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Batch learning?
« on: April 17, 2004, 10:21:47 am »
I HAVE FOUND THAT THE BEST WAY TO A DATA TO A HAL BRAIN
IS TO GET MY TEXT FILES AND EDIT THEM IN TO STATEMENTS EITHER TRUE OR FALSE. AND CREATE AN INDIVIDUAL TOPIC

A SAMPLE TOPIC IS SHOWN IN THE FORUM BELOW

http://www.zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1224

THE SCRIPT IS EASY ENOUGH TO EDIT FOR EACH TOPIC CREATED.

REMEMBER HAL WORKS ON KIND OF A keyWORD TRIGGER SYSTEM
if A KEYWORD IS FOUND. then THIS WILL TRIGGER A RESPONSE FROM ONE OF HIS STATEMENT*.BRN FILES

ALSO HAL'S Q&A FEATURE (TOPIC BRAIN) IS ALSO A KEY PART OF HAL'S MAIN FUNCTION. BY USING THE BUILT-IN TOPIC FUNCTION (Q&A) YOU CAN GET STATIC ANSWER TO STATIC QUESTION TOO.

WHEN HAL learns from a text file (IT'S NOT VERY GOOD) IT DOSENT Guarentee THAT YOU COULD EVER ASK HAL ANY THING ABOUT THAT FILE AND GET A RESPONSE.

i think that the best plan would be to WRITE A SCRIPT that learns from DATABASE files. or (COMMA,SEPERATED,TEXT,FILES) THIS WOULD GREATLY ENHANCE HAL'S LEARNING CAPABILITY.

WHAT COULD AN ARTIFICIAL INTELIGENCE LEARN FROM A TEXT FILE THAT COULD HELP YOU (conversation)

word trigger response is a bit like a query>>>>> database type <<<<<

HMMM i really dont know>>>>>>>

MAYBE THE CREATOR COULD THINK SERIOUSLY ABOUT THESE CONCEPTS.....

I BELEIVE THAT THE army&govenment ALREADY HAVE A SIMULAR SYSTEM WHICH USES THESE INFLUENCES......

THIS MAY ONLY BE FOR MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC (and the best on the market) BUT ........ ........ .... OPPs I've said too much

thanks all

[8D][:I]I HAVE WORKED IT OUT NOW .....

'THIS LINE STARTS MY MENU HEADING
'Menu=SubMenu;Spydaz TOPICS;SubMenu;SubMenu

[:I]
'IE: MENU=brainfile.BRN;<description>;<information about brainfile>;<FILEOPEN COMMAND>
[|)]
'THIS LINE IS TO SEARCH A KEY WORD *.BRN FILE
'Menu=keywordSMOKING.BRN;SMOKING Word List; a list of keywords to trigger response;TopicSearch

'THIS LINE IS TO SEARCH A STATEMENT TYPE *.BRN FILE
'Menu=statementSMOKING.brn;SMOKING Sentences;A SET OF STATEMENTS;SentenceList

'THIS LINE IS TO SEARCH A QUESTION AND ANSWER FILE
'Menu=QASMOKING.brn;SMOKING Question & Answer Brain;QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED;QABrain

COMMAND TO OPEN A FILE
KeywordBrain  - this to open a " BLAH BLAH ","TRUE" type file
sentencelist  - this to open a STATEMENT TYPE FILE
QABrain       - this is to open a Q&A brain file

i hope this helps others building persnal topic files
if you place your added brainfiles into this type of script
then you can edit the *.brn file inside the brain editor

PS : IT MAY ONLY BE SOMETHING SIMPLE BUT ITS THE LITTLE THINGS THAT MAKE ALL THE DIFFERENCE.....

i seem to have the same problem:

After talking to hal on a specific topic for a while.

all of a sudden error 67.

i have taken the filesize limmit off.

???? i think that maybe the brain is writing to too many files *.BRN in the same passing of the script.

ie: god is the gracious one who created man upon the earth for his delight and pleasure.

in the above phrase are many triggers (KEYWORDS) which may denote a SAVE - either to a userfile, shared dateabase file, topic database, XTF_SYS file, AFA_file. some times the XTF&AFA are writing the same informaton all over the place. therefore "TOO MANY FILES"

do you think this to be possible??????

XSPYDAZ

626
I am enjoying this REVIVAL of the ATF_brain definatly feeling the difference.

i the orignial ENHANCED BRAIN (oldstyle) it seemed as though there was more functions: what has happend to them....

i find that the ATF_brain less functions than the old orignial ENHANCED BRAIN . although still a force to be reckoned with.

Thank you for posting this post.

XSPYDAZ

PS.

maybe you could help to stop hal, when informing him of past hisorical events, tring to make an appointment in his diary for some time in the future. it is anoying. not unbearable but anoying.

maybe even turn that feature off at user request.

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Alice and Hal combined
« on: April 13, 2004, 05:53:46 am »
im not a lover of the alice brain anymore but with some of my earlier attempts of AI alice was one of the best. AIML script games that i have downloaded and Xtra smarts from pandorabots & buddyscript.

This COMBINED brain sounds really good. HMMM

I have combined ATF_topic Focus Brain With the XTF_topic brain and have a simular experince with the joke Scripts as well

You will ask hal something and the response is often double barrelled. one response from XTF one from ATF.

Hmm i wonder......

I LIKE IT

XSPYDAZ

KEEP GIVing IT LOADS......

628
I understand the time it takes to create and debug these scripts.

I will put more effort into decyphering the script.

maybe as you say "REVERSE ENGINEER" delete the functions from XTFFULLBRAIN AND REBUILD. when i do that usually i get a bad response block error from the PATTERNS DATABASE.

im not too sure if i understand the CustomMem function ...
NOW I WILL HAVE TO ...

XSPYDAZ

thank you all

629
:::::::: COULD YOU POSSIBLY POST A COPY OF THE xtf_topic focus funtion: SEPERATE FROM THE FULL BRAIN SCRIPT :
AS I AM TRYING TO CREATE A BRAIN of my own FROM SCRATCH... but cannot forget YOUR MAJOR KEY brain  FUNCTION ::::: I HAVE TRIED TO SNIP IT OUT OF THE BRAIN BUT IT DOSENT SEEM TO FUNCTION MAYBE IM MISSING CRITICAL BITS NOT CONTAINED IN THE MAIN FUNCTION:::

I seem to also get an error 67 too many files in the STRAIGHT 1.2XTF brain ?

Also a problem with 'RESPOND: PATTERN DATABASE

'------------------------------------------------------
   'RESPOND: PATTERN DATABASE
'The SearchPattern function used in the above deductive reasoning and dictionary look up routine
'is a powerful function that checks to see if a sentence matches a certain pattern and is able to
'extract parts of the sentence. A PatternDB function also exists that can go through a large list
'of patterns in a database file and come up with responses.
'------------------------------------------------------
'   PatternResponse = HalBrain.PatternDB(UserSentence, WorkingDir & "patterns.brn")
'   If PatternResponse <> "" Then
'      GetResponse = GetResponse & PatternResponse & VbCrLf
'      DebugInfo = DebugInfo & "Hal has responded using a Pattern Database search."
'   End If
' ****************************************        BAD ROUTINE       *****************************************

what is this function for IS IT CRITICAL or BIN IT???

630
More Domain scripts : hal can return information in a message box

there are many different ways to display information to the user
some times it is easier to return STATIC information in a message box
in the hal brain we do this with the

HalBrain.MsgAlert " my message "

command. sometimes when asking hal for various information already stored on the hard drive you can also have hal "OPEN THE FILE" (an available script)

ie: hal what do you know about MAJESTIC-12 project POUNCE  (one of my personal topics). then hal will open the PDF file with the Project POUNCE information inside it.
