what more can hal do

my name is marcus and i think ulta hal is great one thing i need to know is that can hal do common taks's such as print documents/open a single music picture e.t.c file as it is or even shut down the computer using the shutdown command and also things like open the cd drive open and close folders
the reason im asking is because he can interact with the devices on the computer such as the modem to dial a phone number
using OCX files so can he do more?

Hello,

I have heard of Hal doing SOME of the things you mention, such as dialing phone numbers, opening files, and operating the CD drawer (thanks to code contributed by a forum member here).

It should be possible to eventually do all the things you envision, but someone would need to write additional software code to make it happen.

Zabaware has designed Hal to be extremely modular and open, and members on this forum have already contributed many new operations and functions for Hal.  It is very possible that you can get a dialogue going with some of them.  

Depending on your interests, you might also get into code-writing yourself.  We have many cases of forum members becoming very interested in code-writing, and gaining impressive proficiency!
