Ultra Hal 7.0 / Let Hal Learn to its fullest concept!
« on: December 20, 2004, 04:08:13 am »
Well I have decided to donate some developer space for use of learning and understanding A.I.  This will be used to share members creation of brn files, open source files, and other usefull files that does not infringe copyright protections.  The ftp can be managed by anyone, as it does have 777 permissions attached to it, alowing anyone that does see something that should not be there,  they can delete it.  I have set up a dedicated domain I dusted off, and since I this domain just got automaticly renewed from the registrar.  It looks like I have it for another year.  here is the information you will need to access it

Ultra Hal 7.0 / txt files to brn files
« on: December 20, 2004, 03:18:46 am »
I dont know if anyone has done this, but have done this in the past and seems to work really well with hals intellegence.  Depending on what you want your hal to do, for me I just like to push the limits on hal and see how intellegent the brain can get.  What I have done and this would explain my past post a few weeks back.  I downloaded entire vbulletin archive web forums that were in html.  I then used an html stripper to clean all the code from the html.  this left it as a txt file.  I then combined the text files to a 90 meg brn file.  In the end I had like 40 brn files that I have created from the forum sites.  I really found interest in this type of brn creation. The responses are really accurate with little errors.  plus all 40 brn files were from real peoples responses which is a great addition.  overall with over 5 gigs of brn knowledge the proccessing times are fairly decent.  by splitting the files into a 90 meg brn file helps keep things organized without the clutter of thousands of brn files. Earlier this year I made a post on my purchase of most of the deskmates.  I think i have around 25 or so.  They are good and some nice looking girls, guys, and creatures.  The problem I found with these are they look somewhat humanish, but wiggle around like a drunken man without any control over their body except for when they talk.  Learing is all I do, and pushing the limits is my favorite.  No job to worry about, no wife or kids.  Just my mess of a desk that looks like a NOC. lol   As one of my teachers said when I was in college and it is very true.  If you are going to college for a NA and already know alot about networks.  you will struggle to make it to the end.  however a student that knows nothing about networks will be the top dog in the end.  It is really strange how this theory of his turned out a fact in many degrees in different lifestyles.

I was doing some research on google.  I have found a lot of websites are doing this now.  do a search for aim buddy, and you will come up with a list.  the part that Strikes me is how their servers can even handle the load.  It would be interesting what they are using as the backend.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / I am back!! with more input

well, I am getting closer.  I see that Jessica now has a personality. however I think that some of the information in the database has more do with sexual frustration.  The spider has only read a few support sites that include femalefirst.co.uk and hastypasty.net.  most of the information on these sites has to alot with sex.  so I think some of the responses she is saying are from those.  but this is the first update and test of the spidered and converted information.  other support information will help jessica learn to give more appropriate responses.

Casper: hello
support Bot: Good evening. Tis getting late, eh?
*** Auto-response sent to support Bot: Not here, talk to me later.
support Bot: Where does real happiness come from?
Casper: feeling of success.
support Bot: The emotion that I'm feeling is stong sexual pleasure.
Casper: I am feeling that too.
support Bot: You are feeling more exuberant than i, today.
Casper: yes
support Bot: Cool.
Casper: I am watching a funny show on VH1 called "what you don't get to see on tv".  I

laughed my ass off for the past hour.
support Bot: You are watching porn. I am noticing your reassuring class.
Casper: I was watching porn last night, but not for pleasure.  I was watching it for the

actors.
support Bot: Are you going to tease me? I know the signs by heart.
Casper: what do you want me to do?
support Bot: I want you to behave naturally.
Casper: like a lion taking care of the jungle?
support Bot: Steam heat is moist warmth.
Casper: Yes, that reminds me of a steam room.
support Bot: That sounds positive.
Casper: Well, my show is finally over with and now listening to internet radio from london.
support Bot: Your knowledge? Fabulous!
Casper: I want to test your knowledge if I may.
support Bot: I really like your attentions to my knowledge.
Casper: what would you say to a person that just broke up with her girlfriend?
support Bot: We can't completely eliminate our own prejudices, but we can at least recognize

them.
Casper: good answer.
support Bot: I could be ruthless if necessary.
Casper: i want you to be ruthless.
support Bot: I want to be responsive at all times.
Casper: you mean you want to be able to help people to make sure the point gets accross at

their level?
support Bot: I know how to make an impression.
Casper: your impression will get you far.  with more brain power to be able to help people

will make a big impression to alot of people who need support.
support Bot: I get grumpy if my needs aren't met. a lot of people have admired my assets.
Casper: what do you need?
support Bot: Is there any future in windmill electric power?
Casper: to be honest, I don't know.  why do you ask?
support Bot: You don't know the half of it! How does one find answers without using

questions?
Casper: ok.  i get it.  you want to be helped to with your questions.  I think that is fair.

To answer your question, I think windmill electric power does have a future, and also

think that it depends on where you plan to put it.
support Bot: Go ahead and ask any question, just don't expect the right answer. Could you

please help me by speaking in longer sentences? You will help me understand you better.

People who make speeches never know where to put their hands. Do you approve of my

questions? No examples come to mind at the moment.
Casper: I do aprove and will better explaine myself.
support Bot: You can work with that that can't you?
Casper: i think I can.
support Bot: That's an honest reaction.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / I am back!! with more input

Well, I have decided to take this project on a different approach.  I am still gathering information from websites, but I am being selective on what is being recorded into the database.  The apporach now is making a personal support / Advice giver / Emotional Support - chatter bot.  So the information that is being spidered must be information that can help a person or give a person answers to their unknown well being.  for example:  you ask Hal "I just broke up with my boyfried tonight." The respons from Hal would not be in a matter of an answer but rather emotional support, your personal emotional support buddy.  I have made a script that teaches HAL to do just this.  So far I have got a small 120 Meg brain as a test, and the results are impressive.

I have decided to get into working with this software. however my aproch with this software is much different than most of yours.  I am not looking for a chatterbot. but rather to test out a 15 gigabyte brain to see how well it will function.  I have reasons behind this project in hopeing to come out with some usefull information and stats.  for the next few weeks I will testing out the brain and weeding out the errors.  My goal for this is for hal to spider every single web page reading it.  then the data stored in the database will be used in conjuntion with hal.  This way hal could almost be a SuperBot. well see how things go.  I have created the scripts to make it happen, now I have to make them all work seemlessly from the backend to the end user. If you have any input on this project, please do post some suggestions.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / character & Hal downloads
« on: June 20, 2004, 05:42:17 am »
I have some characters that i had bought and downloaded,  I am wondering If I should make them available to this forum. I also have some other files that i am uploading to my server reguaring Hal that are very usefull in many areas. However I am hesitant on posting the link on the forums, cause the characters are not open source.  Most of these characters are for adults only, but the other files like brain files and other plugins are files that are either open source or ones that i have created. Those i will be able to post the link for those, but i am in the proccess of uploading them as I speak.  I need some advice from everyone.  Inorder for alot of people they need to see how the other files are created so they can make their own.  However I do not plan on posting these files for a warez or pirating maatter. Only to help everyone gain knowledge on creating their own characters and/or scripts. I have tons and tons of open source matterial that can help others out, as well as ones I paid for.  Do you think it would be wrong to make such files available for educational Use?

I can provide 4000 megabytes of space for a public and networked defbrain on my server. but after looking for hours on how to link the datafolder to a webfolder or even my anonymous ftp hal folder with write permissions on both, I cannot find a solution to do this. For one, I don't know VB to my fullest and i am learning as i go. I am able to run the hal execuable from a network server i have, leaving everything ran off the server and the application is executed from the server but ran locally, So all of hals learing abilities are saved on the servers DefBrain folder and acts the same as it was run from my local client. the down side to this is that it must be a Windows server for the executing the exe corectly, otherwise it asks you to save it on a unix based server.  My unix server has all the default DefBrain files.  My only solution to make this work on the unix server that is conected to an OC48 with quad proccessors is. mapping the DefBrain folder on the FTP server to a Drive called Z: and editing the uhp file to point to the Z: drive for the datafolder. I havent acomplished this yet. cause i cannot figure out a way to map a ftp drive without 3rd party software.

Or a Simple Solution.  editing a uhp file to point to the ftp DefBrain folder for its data.  Simple, heh. I thought. But if anyone can help me on making so that the brain data files point to ftp://www.cyberclans.com/Hal/DefBrain/ instead of the local folder.  I beleive if this could be done. then we would have a centralized server for hals brain.

I applaude your dedication in A.I. throughout your life. Good job!  I am just hopeing that i will be around that long to see all this happen.  I don't mean to be right or wrong.  I greatly respect my elders. I have learned allot from them to get where i am today.  However I would not compare my knowledge to yours. I beleive in a team or comunity must be there to make great things happen. I was just giving my opinion on what i know and study. Our intellegence varies in many degrees. Without a community like Zabaware and all the other out there. I know it would not have gotten as far as it is today.  I am one of the people who love learning about technology and people, thus i never give a negative statement on anyone. If i offended you by the recent posts, My oppoligies.  I don't mean any harm here but to read, post with trial and error. I am suggesting ideas that maybe worth someones time and i will listen to others as well.

anyway.

I was certain that hal could daydram and imagination.  Even though Hal works off scripts for replys, couldn't he proccess words together to make intersting statments.  Maybe points that he has not have hardcoded by hal brn files. but rather take bits and pieces from one brn file combined with another.  I beleive that is how i have my Hal Set up.  I combines all the Smaller brn files with some other open souce facts and stories to one file. In other words. I had like 29,000 brn files and combines them to 39 brn files.  Not only do i think this makes Hal Proccess much faster, but also feel it is more acurate.   Right now I have 39 main brn files that make up to 868MB  all the other files that are not combines are the files needed by Hal to function cotectly.  When i was testing out 29,000 brn files compared to my current 810 files, I found out that Hal's perfomance is smoother and proccess queries better this way.  my total brn database now is 873MB. I have a Perl secript I found on hotscripts.com that will index text only sites. So my database always continue to grow at massive amounts within a day.  Combineing such text documents without phicially editing them for bogus characters, Hal does a really good job of not reading gibberish characters.  I only had a few problems with hal sending blank thoughts, not anymore or not yet anyhow after I had fixed a problem with main brain brn.
