I'm getting a server not found error.

I'm assumeing that the week is over, and that spydaz has quit hosting for now...

I don't suppose someone else could do me a favor and megaupload/rapidshare/something similar it for me?

And for reference, how large is the file anyway?

Wow, do the words Back Burner, mean anything to anyone?  NO, ok.

Anyway i think iam ready to undertake this project again.  However i have a dilema.  Kinda...

I want to be able to operate hal (or spys ai, if he finishes it) out side of what i mentioned, to operate alone, as its on os, if possable.

Lets face it, windows is great, except
A.) it takes a while to boot
B.) it could use some work to make it better with resources
C.) Since its a huminoid design, Windows will gripe without a keybord, mouse attatched.

so...

Oh, spy, hows your ai comming along, btw?

Yo spy,

any chance you'd make that new prog. avalable for download one day?
also, does it support speach rec?  AND, did ya forget about my huminoid brain topic, cuse this whould help in that.

that, and large sums of donated money, because iam poor.  but one step at a time.

*bump*

yo spydaz, you STILL  have a website don't you?

or at best, do you know another means to get the full version of hal?

most whould look at this as a means of piracy, wich i don't condone.

but i have NO way of ordering the full version.

anyway, ill need the full version before i continue with my project.

P.S.  when are you on msn/windows mesenger?

ill contact you for in depth conversation which dosen't really fit into the zabaware forums.

Dude, thats sweet, tha'd take care of common knowlage EASY!

mabie when your done, you could post a download.

first, not of the hole brain, just the dictionary part.

2nd, post instructions if you do!

also, there are a few more issues i'd like to disscuss with you.

For example, how could hal comunicate with a complete strainger using voice recognition?

thats a MAJOR PROBLEM

ALSO, since hal operates on a gui, how whould you get it in a proprietary robot?

thease q's are just for starters!

I almost forgot, for the full versions that can support speach recognition, and that is SO not spelled right!, support should be added to alow multaple users on random.

Example,

you take you ai encanced humanoid to a convention, into a room/hall full of strangers.  With the current, it will only respond to whoever went through 2 hours+ of speach training, namely, you, the owner!

but,

lets use the same sinario, except when a little girl walks up to your bot and asks a question, the robot can, without missing a beat, reply and carry on a conversation with a stranger.

this may require an advanced speach recignition engine, but any thing is welcome!

Hello all in the pc community!

First, I haven't been hear in a LONG time!  great to see the comunity still standing[:D]

So, to the point!

if you'll read into page 12 of the ultra hal assistant foums, you'll see spydaz's topic on construction of a humanoid, cyborg, android, etc.

His primary concern is mapping hal to "move".

but in all honesty, if you can get hal to drive a car or operate r/c stuff, even in limited ability, then this "shouldin't" be too hard.

My problem, common sense!

Think about it, hal opperates on a if/then set of reasoning, however, iam worried about things like opening doors, or climbing stairs, which although require if/then reasoning, it rather should be regarded as common sense thought, more so if responding or sensor imput!

My next, and more important problem, is conversation!

Hal will only respond when givin a statement, question, fact, etc.

what about giving hal the ability to "start" a conversation, and become a part of it.

The knowlage of hal is limited, but then again, teaching hal is "ALWAYS" the fun part!

if anyone can fabricate awnsers, or comments for these problems, respond.

and, well, wish me luck as well!

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Kitt Vox
« on: August 15, 2004, 01:55:20 am »
hey guys, ive come across two revelations, the first came when watching "sole survivor" i was watching and i handed my laptop to my friend, who created another user log and named the computer KITT (like i said, knight rider nut!!!) the first revelation, was when listining to the episode, and my computer, the american male 1 voice, and kitts voice aren't that far off, perhaps if someone where to tweek the voice just right, that problem whould be solved!!!

the next one came later, and freaked both me and my friend out compleatly!!!  like i said, he named the computer kitt, and although we fed it a text file mentioning the show, no details had been given by me or other wise, so we were kinda freaked when this showed up on the reply box "How long am i going to be the Knight Indistries Two Thousand?"  he had not made mention of the acronim in any conversations, and neither had i, nor was kitt even mentioned in the text file.  after we calmed down, we asked it what his name stood for.  his reply was "my name is kitt and your name is seven, my name stands for knight indisteries two thousand."  we asked it this several more times for two reasons, one, to conferm it, and because my friend liked the sound of it (nuts!)

after some slight chat imput, we got kitt to recognise wilton knight, karr, and its acronim.  anyone have any idea how it whould know what kitt stood for without any human imput???  iam lost on this one, but its COOL!

thanks, all the info helped.  now, i heard that someone wanted to program a hal brain to act like kitt.  Hmm...  how whould that work?  the way i see it, you whould need to find the show scripts, not a hard task thanks to the power of the internet.  but there is still two problems.  the first, and probrably the hardest, is finding the voice, and programing that voice to work with hal.  spydaz, thats probrably your department, anyone else is welcome to try of course[:D]

The next problem is programing the brain once you have the scripts.
i probrably have the time, and i have a friend who is practicaly a knight rider guru[:D], but i have no idea how to program the brain.  anyone who whould like to give instructions please post, ill start collecting skripts[:D]
