Title: Talking cars?!
Post by: Art on September 03, 2004, 05:22:54 pm
Well, K.I.T.T. may be getting closer than we think...that is, if Honda has their way.
Honda will be introducing two new cars this coming year that, well, TALK. The cars are outfitted with computer chips and modules using a partnered IBM speech software to aid the motorist with verbal driving instructions and directions.
The driver can ask, "Where do I turn?" and the computer will recognize the question and reply, "Go one mile and turn left at Wicker Street, then turn right at the next street which will be Adams."
It's reported to understand several hundred commands and is speaker independent (understands anyone's voice) and very minimal to little training is required!

Go ahead...Activate your turbo boost!!
