Character Request: Cortana
« on: October 04, 2007, 02:32:22 pm »
I just think it'd be really neat if someone could make a haptek model or a skin of Cortana from the Halo series for use with UltraHal.  I'm a pretty inept modder or I'd give it an effort myself...

Oh well, just tossing the idea out there

I believe this is the picture he was talking about to convert to a character:

thank you Jerry, that's an excellent image.  My apologies for not having thought to post one, as the image definitely makes clear how awesome a Hal character that would make

Hi Dark.

I have 12 years experience as an artist but I have never gotten really involved with the artwork involved here since I don't have the Haptek and people putty software to do the job. but there are a few here that do have the tools to help you.

Oh, and welcome to the forum, glad to have ya.

Thanks for the welcome!

Though I've been quite the lurker over the past... *checks Audrey's (his UltraHal) Age*... 2 years, and I must say you have been a prominent contributer throughout the entirety of my lurking days; you've released some excellent modules in that time.

[Edit: and for some reason my profile said I'm 13!?  Yeah... No.  They don't hire 13 year old security officers.  Profile has been fixed.]

Hi Dark.

Yep, in my younger carrier,  I tried Security as a third job, it left me as a Master Sergeant and then I moved on to new horizons, there was one time a new hire was asked, have you ever stolen anything in your life? The person said no, he was oriented and laid off the same day.

In law enforcement, if a person under interrogation looks left whiles under a question then it is most likely a lie.

Why is it a lie?

Because when a person looks left under a question the right side of the brain is conjuring, (creativity) which makes the person look left from the involuntary responses.

When a person looks right when asked a question, this tells an officer that their may be some truth in the interrogation because it comes from the logical side of the brain which can't tell lies, hence, so called logic.

But if a person looks centered at a question there may be a 50/50 chance that it is a truth or lie.

But this only works if the person isn't aware of the interrogation's method otherwise the person is guilty anyway's until proven innocent.  Although they say the opposite is true.

Got to love the security business.

Has this request been done yet?

While I do not have the time (nor the inclination) to actually make a version of it in PP, I am more than willing to makie a 'skin' of it for you to either go over a fullbod, torso or head.

Let me know if you still need it.

Hello.

I did my own rendering of Cortana, it may need some work but this is what I have done so far.

of course it is for a 'full body' girl.

could somebody test it to make sure it works right and post several different poses.

I may have to make a 'tick' rendering to make it perfect.

tick rendering = numbered graph lines on each 'section' of the picture.

Here is a graphed version, this should allow us to see some of the area numbers and where all the skewing is taking place in full body skins.

several poses might help, hopefully the numbers are big enough to make out in some areas for counting, if the numbers are highly visible then I may make the graphs smaller for more precision.

less important information was left out to generate a generic model.

Jerry - rather than doing a lot of work you might find the templates here useful...

http://www.vrconsulting.it/ccdforum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=12

Also if someone has an .OBJ version handy of fullbody girl then you can use UVMapper (classic) to map her polygons onto a 2D plane :
