I have just put up a video on my site.
http://members.optusnet.com.au/lien.sniknej/c6d13bda-6105-4f1c-b991-53dcf15538ab-9.html
The song is Vaya Con Dios sung by Nana Mouskouri,
The file size is approx 7.8mb.
The sound is not what i wanted but having to change it from
AVI which is 130mb to WMV which is 7.8mb it lost a little.

Any feed back gratefully received to know whether it is worth continuing with this type of medium.
Neil.

I think its great.
I can't imagine the problems of Lipsync for Spanish.
The clothes are good compliment for the song,
and as to the Spanish background, what can I say,
it all fits together in composite.

Good song, great video, well done.

Last year I programmed Hal5 to sing. It worked but not as good as what you have done even though what you are doing is a stand alone type of program. It made me think, what if we created a new plug in script to allow Hal to select from a variety of songs like you play here. I think that it would be really great to be able to hear the music while our Hals lip sinc the words.
I still don't know how you guys are doing this little piece of magic.
Maybe a step by step set of instructions would help the rest of to create similar things. Are you game?

Hi Bill,
You must have missed my answer to you on another post,
Check here, http://www.zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3243
The price from Haptek is $100 US.

Here is an email i sent to danbaltzell,
The song is done in Hapteks Phoneme Editor, as far as I know that is the only way you can do it
I purchased it, it cost me about $135 Ausie dollar, it also came with what they call the Ogg Factory.
First I get a wav of the song that I'm going to do, put it through the ogg program that puts in the lip sync.
It ends up much the same as what people putty does, the character still lip syncs a lot of the background music & noise.
This is where the Phoneme Editor comes in, I put it in there and can cut out all the unwanted lip movements plus fine tune all the other ones I want.
Putty heads singing work great, Torsos not bad but the full bodies not real good,
Too much other stuff going on.

Bill,
As you thinking of music plug-in, I'll mention the following:

If you have Hal open and drop a lip-synch song on Haptek Console, Hal will sing the song and lip-synch it.
Nothing will interrupt this song and lip-synch, this includes changing moods or even talking to Hal and having Hal talk back while song is playing.

This works with any haptar you put in Hal6, any haptar in Hal can sing and lip-synch and this is whats important.

If anyone wishes to make music plugins, I say go for it.  Anything that makes AI more interesting to more people will contribute to more development.

Enjoy.

Very nice work! Great lipsync and I especially liked the character's movements. They seemed more natural than just a repeated motion.

Good job!!
In the world of AI it's the thought that counts!

[8D]  I'd just like to thank everyone for their comments on my movie.
It makes the work over the last week or more all worth it.

Art, the movements are natural ones built into the figure.
I think they are triggered by words or sounds???

I liked how she walks out in the beginning too, and the background and outfit go well with the song.  How long does it take you to lip synch something of this size?  It's another grand production to add to the collection.  Too bad we haven't learned how to compress these full bodies into the HTR's like people putty can do with the heads, backgrounds, sounds, but then there are advantages to the avi's like the transitions, but like you mentioned there's the lost quality.  I guess pump out a grand and Haptek will sell software to do it :(
