Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Hal learning from text files

Running into problems using Hal's Brain Editor Hal reading and learning from text files from windows notepad  getting error messages runtime error #9 subtext out of range has any one figured out how to fix this problem? please contact me!
