Hi All
Just payed for a copy of Hal 4.5 =) dam good program
But what i'm finding is she is eatting to much cpu time
and i'm not sure what to do
I more of a linux user now a days ( using Red Hat And Mandrake )
and i know how some times its just a small thing that can coz this
type of thing :)
now be for i move it to my main system i like to have this fixed.
Backgroud
System is
CPU P III 850 ( Notebook (A) Targe )
RAM 380 ( 16mg video )( ram used 170mg right now ) hal not open
HDD 30gb ( 5 gb free )
O/S windows 2000 pro
Now what does she do when she start up and is running the cpu is most of the time just on 60 to 70 % ( hal off the cpu is just @ 10 to 20% )
she still working but and some times it on 100% (still working)
this is when it sleeping 2 ( mic not on )
i have looked @ the ram it's using its up to 50 to 70mg
I have remove all programs from startup this did not help

OK just found out that its the speech thats making the cpu over load and the memory lieks
still not sure how to fix it =(

Do you leave Hal's window open? If you're not actively talking with Hal, you should send him to the system tray so that it doesn't keep an active connection with your speech recognition engine.
