Looking for a list of all HAP commands, switches
« on: April 01, 2008, 10:01:42 pm »
I've collected a LOT of commands that can be used in the viewer to control the character, but there are a few things I'm still looking for switches, states, etc to accomplish.

DOES ANYBODY KNOW... where a complete list of all these commands are?  I've been searching for the last few days and I have not found such a document.

Thanks!

Thanks for the info, Duskrider!  That's a very nice program, but it still does not do what I want... let me explain...

EXPLANATION BEGINS...

I've picked up about a dozen accessories from various places on the web.  Several of them were STOCK PeoplePutty accessories that someone pulled into some program and changed them to look different; different color, etc., and that works fine in a script of drag'n'drop, but I'm trying to add NEW accessories to my PeoplePutty Accessory Interface.

I've been able to add the accessory to the interface.  An icon shows up on the interfaces show my new accessory and what it looks like.  If you double click it, it is applied to the character, <=BUT=> if you double click it again, it does not remove it from the character as the other STOCK items do =AND= you can not manipulate it on the character as you can the STOCK accessories.

EXPLANATION ENDS...

I found out why.

SCENARIO BEGINS...

1. Let's say that someone uses some program to load the PeoplePutty accessory "Stringy blue hair"

2. They use that program, (by the way, I'd like to know what that program is), to change the color of the BLUE hair to GREEN hair.

3. Then the use that program to save the HAPTAR,HTR and name it "Stringy Green Hair.haptar"

4. Even though the color and filename has changed, the information about the file stays the same, the haptar still contains information that tells PeoplePutty that this new file that is named "Stringy Green Hair" is really the original file that was actually name "hair6_2EXP_blue.htr", including the interface name of "Stringy blue hair", and other information that the PeoplePutty program writes to it's "hap_temp" directory.  Those temp files are what allows you to remove the accessory and manipulate the accessory.

SCENARIO ENDS...

That's why I'm looking for a program that will...

1. Allow you to load a HAPTAR,HTR file
2. Edit all the info, graphic and info data
3. Save the file as a true PeoplePutty HAPTAR,HTR

That would allow me to name the file correctly and have it contain the correct info so it would work right in PeoplePutty.

If anyone has knows HOW to get there from here, please let me know!

Thanks!
The Jake

ok,I will comment and get it started.
I've never bought anything from haptek so I can't tell you anything first hand.

 http://www.haptek.com/developers/licensing

and you will see this list:
People putty 1.11  Click on people putty and they tell you of free 30 day demo of people putty.
I suggest you do this.  After 30 days it quits working but by then you know if you want to buy it.  (cost maybe about $60) 3 or 4 people on forum have it. It does haptar heads from photos, etc.  Cool. Talk to Jack or ~ladyblonde about this.
half-body character.     I'll skip this.
full body character.   I'll skip this.
Audio Factory.    Talk with Nige about this.
Figure Maker.  this enables you to create switches for your haptek.   I wouldn't buy this.
Delta Set Maker.  This does character morphs and couple other things.  Might be fun.   Cost:  no idea.
HapTargh.   Little more advanced.   Gives you I think the inner working of the haptar and changes you can make.  Might be fun. Talk with Nige about this.
HapCompressor ---not available
Phoneme Editor.  Talk to Nige about this.
Accessory Converter.  Very nice program.  Can make accessorys for your haptar.  Items that can relate to your haptar and also stand alone items.   Cool and fun items for someone who likes to create.  If I did buy a program, I'd probably buy this.  Cost I don't know, maybe $100.

I'll send Nige an e-mail and mention you and this topic.

Thanks for the reply,info, Duskrider!

I've been checking out all the info on the Haptek site on all the programs you metioned and I've sent a few email to them to get more info.

One of their programs I was thinking about starting with was the Accessory Converter, but it lists some limitations that I don't like, here's a quote from their page...

"It won't let you create hair or cloth with physics applied. all though you are welcome to make stiff hair!"

Actually, that program would be the perfect place to start if it had the ability to add the physics to the converted accessory.

Hi Jake, Dusky pointed me to your post.
I agree with you on the Acc Converter, I nearly bought it but when i found that out gave it a miss.
I bought the phenone editor & am having a great time with it.
Cost $100 US
With it I found a little program called Htagh ( I think that is right )
It lets you build into the models ( heads, bodies, acc, etc. )
Anything you want to put in there.
Nearly all of the singers that I do are done that way.
THEY ARE NOT MOVIES.

Thanks for the info, Nige!  I'll look deeper into Phoneme Editor.  Could the other program you mentioned that came with your copy of Phoneme Editor, "Htagh" be the one they are calling "HapTargh" on the license page?  If that comes with the Phoneme Editor, it would be a no brainer at $100.00, I buy it now.

awesome dusky, thanks alot, thats exactly what i am looking for and i'm gonna hopefully make a high res version of sandy if i can figure out how to save it,the above program seems to be only an explorer however i do believe theres some code that may load the texture via a hap file,i also have the haptek psd template from their site, the delta set maker is the kiddie and i would imagine its gonna cost heavy bucks because this is what you use to transform any new heads you make in a 3d modelling program to the format understood by the hap player.
anyway 3d is not rocket science i am sure it wouldn't take long for someone to make a 3d character plugin for ultrahal thats doesnt require haptek,i am very exited about the ogre3d replacement.

jojimbo,

here some more.

http://www.savefile.com/files/1500126

You can make your changes and do a "drag and drop" onto any haptek head in a haptek window.
