MS Outlook problem
« on: April 30, 2007, 02:10:06 pm »
I installed the new version of Ultra Hal and Outlook would not start. The hourglass appeared for a few seconds but nothing more.

I uninstalled Ultra Hal, rebooted and I have Outlook working again.

What do I do to get both working together?

As far as I know the 2 programs don't share any components so Hal shouldn't be interfering with Outlook at all. Are you sure it was Hal that was the cause? Maybe just the fact that you rebooted your computer made Outlook work again?

Hi

Thank you for your reply which stimulated me to try again.
I reinstalled Ultra Hal - this time I did not need to enter the serial number(?!).
Both are now working together - without a further reboot.

This poses the question: Was this a one-off or should a reboot been done after the first instrallation?

Thanks,
Ray

Hal should have asked you for a reboot after its setup program complete, so that is very likely the cause.
