Ultra Hal 7.0 / Reactivation problem

I replaced my hard drive which crashed.  In reinstalling Ultra Hal, it won't accept my activation code.  Do they expire?  Suggestions?

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Alice plug-in

Downloaded the Alice plug-in and installed.  When that brain is selected Hal doesn't respond to anything.  Tried reinstalling, but no change.  Suggestions?
