Spent the last hour getting all the htr and JHP files.

No one asking, so I'm going to.
What's with the french hapteks?
I put them in Hals Character folder and they don't show at options.
I give them a mug shot and a start jpg and still nothing.
I restart Hal, nothing.
I restart computer, still nothing.
They good as stand alones and can change clothes, etc.
But won't show in Hal.
Checking the files, no different than Hapteks we use, far as I can tell.
But you can convert them to skins,
hook them to trigger words and load them that way.
This easier anyway than going to options.
But its strange that they haptek and won't show.
Hummmm......... [?]

They may have the extension .haptar instead of .htr.
The .haptar-extension is ok for the player, but Hal needs .htr's so maybe you should rename them.

You were right about the extension.
I had read this before someplace but never had the situation first hand.
I changed to .htr and now they work fine in Hal.

Nice characters. :) Thing is, I don't know French so I don't know where to look to download them all. :(

Load them in the webpage, then look in your Temporary Internet Files for the haptars and textures. Your temp files will rename them to things like haptar(1).htr, so you may want to rename them omitting the parenthesized comment.

There was only one file Opale.haptar which I renamed to Opale.htr and it worked (though no preview). But I didn't get any of the other ones. I don't know french so I can't figure out the links. Online translators weren't too much help either, unfortunately.
Maybe the author could put the characters into a .zip file and provide a link to that? Might be useful for those of us who don't speak French. :)

Click on Visages.
You now see listing of 33 hapteks.
Click on one of them.
Wait a minute, let it load.
Go to your hap_temp or temp files (whichever) and get the Haptek.
Click on another
Wait, let it load.
Go get it.
There are 33 total (all heads.)

Hi folks,
Could any of you that have the heads put them in the download area for us folks that do not and cannot install / us People Putty?
I for one would love to have a few more even if HAL may be going to a new model in the next release.
In my case it is the Win7 64-bit OS / 32-bit XP based People Putty issue.

I am looking for a few more non-caucasian & sci-fi / fantisy faces that are ready to just be dropped into the folder.

Hi,
as I was reading through the articles on this forum I ran across one that had some crazy thing about copyrights.
And I think if you want any of his stuff you have to get it directly from him, so I suggest shooting him an e-mail.
You should be able to find this on his website but I'm not positive.
Sincerely, and one that is so sad that some people just don't like to share their toys.

PS please don't get me started on copyright stuff because I believe that copyrights is the biggest drawback that this planet has and is the reason why we are still in the steam age days.

But on a serious note; why shouldn't people be able to protect their own creations and benefit from it ?

copyrights, where made to protect those who spent there time to create something and deserve to be protected unless they feel other wise. It's a choice and not all laws are perfect but it is impossible to have a perfect law, so we live and try to refine them. Hoping that we can get as close to fair as possible but as always some people have different agendas so it becomes almost impossible just as buying and selling. Many business men including myself believe if I paid too much and the other person feels he or she didn't receive enough we are probably in the right area to strike a deal.
We are totally spoiled on this forum because members want to share their creations and some do ask for a little help which is totally logical. Never try to put a dollar sign on others time because you really couldn't afford it. Think about how much your true time is worth if not with family, friends, loved ones and especially your own mortality.
Just my opinion.
