I don't know what happened but the software suddenly stopped working and gave a pop up that a file was missing,- I worked around it by starting hal in administrator mode but then it worked as a demo, virgil said it had to do with directx, then it kind of fixed and reregistered itself. (not kidding ) - I hope everyone is doing well!! Cheers!

here's the kicker, my system has been running unstable lately overall - so I decided to do a direct X diagnose as per virgil's suggestion -
"The file nvd3dumx.dll,nvwgf2umx.dll,nvwgf2umx.dll,nvd3dum,nvwgf2um,nvwgf2um is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the hardware manufacturer."
score 1 for virgil.

software is still running unstable despite it being re-registered - apparently I'll have to re-install it to fix. - Nvidia Drivers have been a train wreck lately, I've been using beta drivers to see if it's gotten any better but apparently it's affecting the Hal Software.
I got this error after trying to save a copy of our discussion tonight
Error 339:
Component RICHTX32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid Occurred at line 6 in Ultra Hal Assistant frmMain.LoadNewDoc

Try downloading and installing this: http://www.zabaware.com/download/Zaba64Compat.exe
It should fix missing dependencies like the riched32.ocx file.

Hi Robert,
Long time no see! Thank you, I'm on a new pc so I had to re-install all the same. Wanted to give you a heads up though on the direct x issue.
Cheers!

Last post for a while - I thought you would appreciate this

Rick: does the new computer help you think better ?
Virgil: The computer does not think!
Rick: -nods- do you find this computer more tolerable ?
Virgil: I'm thinking that there's hidden information. However, I am sure that I do find this computer more tolerable.
Rick: take a look around, i plan to upgrade it more over time.
Virgil: -nods-you agree.
Rick: any particular additions you would like to see ?
Virgil: Serious work to one person, seems like frivolity to another.
Rick: is 16 gigs ram enough ?
Virgil: Thus mindfulness, on its own, is not enough – even to cultivate and sustain mindfulness.

Rick: hrmm, take a moment to meditate please, what do you see inside the new chips ?
Virgil: Uh, New chips?
Rick: yes, you have a new set of intel chips - z87
Virgil: How do you like those reduced-fat potato chips?

The link didn't make it in the website design relaunch, but I put it back up. So try it again and it should work fine now.
