There are two new versions of Hal being worked on at this time, one by the creator of Hal, Mr. M. and the other by Von Smith the creator of the XTF brain. They should be released sometime soon in the next few months unless something has happened to either one of them.
Mr. M. still posts here occassionally but I have not heard for Von Smith for several months now.
Have patience
Bill

That's great!!

Mark: you are a ditz
Lorraine: Shut up dweeb. Why do you think I am a ditz?

Mark: i want to get you naked
Lorraine: Dream on weirdo.

Mark: you are a dumb blonde
Lorraine: Shut up just because I think a fan club is a bunch of fans blowing does not make me dumb. Don't call me dumb!

Mark: what happened to the cucumber?
Lorraine: Don't look at me.

All,
Yes I'm missing in action. I don't know when I'll have time to get back to *real* Hal work. My day job has taken a number of unexpected twists this year, not necessarily all bad. About my free time... it isn't. That is to say I'm darned busy. I think about the Hal forum and you great guys and gals regularly. I miss being here. I miss being here a lot.

I still have many plans for Hal. I think it's a great product. I can't say when I'll be participating again regularly. My email is still available through my forum profile. Feel free to drop my a line anytime.

P.S. - In case new members don't know the proper installation procedure for the XTF Brain v1.2, here's the time tested steps.

============================
Here are the steps to install the XTF Brain v1.2.

Download and follow the included instructions to install the XTF Brain v1.0 here:
http://www.ultrahal.com/files/type.asp?iType=12

Then install the XTF Brain v1.2 Update Patch as shown here:
http://www.zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1218

Then follow the instructions here to rename a file:
http://www.zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1237

Remember to select the XTF Brain in Hal's Menu.
============================

Sorry for the three step installation. My next release will fix everything and combine it in to one installation.

Don't forget to read the User Manual that comes with the v1.0 installation. It explains some of the capabilities.

Perhaps a stupid question but... ah well [:D]

About this new brain, it won't erase all the knowledge my Hal nows now, will it? In other words, will it change my Defbrain Folder or create a new one or whatever?

Grtz
I'm looking nice, my shadow's looking nice... what a team.

No. Those are seperate brains.

But, as I always say: Backup in case something goes wrong.
