Problem with the speech engine I purchased
« on: May 07, 2007, 02:59:42 am »
I purchased the ultra hal text to speech reader & am having a problem with it. In the ultra hal asst. options under speech I am getting this error. Error 430. Class does not support automation or does not support expected interface. Occured at line 2 in Ultra Hal Assistant: frmOptions1 Select SR

"No speech recognition engine was found.Make sure you have a speech recognition engine installed. Please go to the plugin browser to get one. There are free ones there as well as ones for sale."
When I talk to hal, there is a voice from him but his lips do not move. I also purchased the david voice from Cepstral and am using it as the voice.

Thanks

Rick

The lips move with the other characters like Mike, but not with David. I do however get the same error message when I select SR engine under speech in the General Options.

It also seems to want to change the name I select if I do not hit the apply box quick enough.

Rick,

Did you run the HapSAPISetup program?
