Be careful what you wish for because you might get it.

You said:
Nice product etc but what i need is a semi good voice to use with sapi5 for a college project?

Several of us sent you helpful links.

Glad you realized your problem.

You're welcome anyway!

Again, if your agent character file has an .asc extension it belongs in the above referenced location in order to work properly.

Burf2000,

Use the SEARCH feature at the top. This
is the critique I did a while back.

Hello ensleyii,
If you use a Microsoft Agent Character with your Hal and use another program like CyberBuddy with the same character at the same time, then you can minimize Hal to the system tray and still keep the character on the screen. But you can not interact with the character using the Hal program while the Hal program is minimized. You can however use the other program with the character while Hal is minimized. But you cannot do this same thing with the Haptek 3D Characters, it only works for Microsoft Agent Characters.

Then again...maybe not.

Yes and anyone who owns any version of Poser can upgrade on line for $99 USD or $129 Ship CD.
Poser 6 also features dynamic cloths and hair great for use in animations.
Interested parties check out:

No, Poser is not compatible with Ultra Hal (at this time).

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Thanks, and another question

Could any other programs be running or accessing web sites at the same time, like an auto-update for anti-spyware, Windows updates, etc.?
Is Hal's mike turned off?
You might copy the brn files and try deleting then reinstalling Hal.
Copy the brn files back to Hal's directory and give it another try.

How often does this happen?
You mentioned others in your family talk with Hal. Do they use the change user function of Hal or is everyone using your user name?

Keep us posted on this.

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Getting haps to work
« on: September 19, 2005, 05:32:36 pm »
Did you choose the default settings when you installed?

Did you have any other agent type programs running at the same time (like Cyberbuddy, etc.)?

Try turning off any anti-virus / firewall programs as well.

Basically, do the above items, delete UltraHal, then reinstall from scratch.

Should work providing your system meets the minimum requirements.

I believe the "jiggly" you're referring to is a Haptek character whereas a file with the asc extension is typical of those used as a Microsoft Assistant or agent character. Not interchangable.

In case you haven't, check your previous postings for an answer to your path problems regarding placement / location for your asc characters.

Try running the "Haptek SAPI Config" program located in the Haptek folder under programs in your start menu.

You must uninstall any/all previous versions of HAL before installing
the new (full) version.

You might want to temporarily disable or turn off any anti-virus checking programs before installing.

Your .acs character files should be placed with any others in:

C:\WINDOWS\msagent\chars

Should work fine from there.
