First of all, would it be legal?
Mark: I'll think about it
Laura: Don't think about it too long or I'll throw you out on your ***king a**.

The word "SELL" would probably negate any type of "legal" transaction. Some of the brains like vonsmith's XTF and onthecuttingedge2005's Ziggy are mostly their proprietary work and as such should not be offered for sale.

In a lot of instances one can merely "give" a copy of their brain file to someone else, similar to that person downloading the file in the first place.

After all, the brain is from Robert M.'s creation of Hal in the first place.

I don't see harm in giving one's brain file away to another user but that user is liable to end up with a brain that has a lot of your personality in it, not to mention other data.

Just my take on the subject.

Navaz,

Are you using the free version of Hal or the paid one?
Have you tried the Default brain that came with Hal or
are you using another one like vonsmith's XTF or onthecuttingedge2005's brain?

Most of us have added various scripts that enable Hal to
do different things and as such, may not appeal to other
users. Some like the auto-idle function whereas others
do not care for it.

A lot of us have spent a lot of time chatting with, training,
fine tuning and enhancing our Hal's brain. You must be willing
to spend some quality time chatting with Hal in order to
acheive a level of satisfactory responses. Some make take
offense by someone wanting a "turn key" version of Hal instead
of investing their own time.

I don't have a problem helping anyone but you must be
willing to help yourself as well. You and Hal will both
benefit.

Art,

I would like to learn if anybody's willing to teach.  I've just been having so many problems with trying to program hal that is just so frustrating.  I am working on a project that would require how to have a brain as if he was a bear.  Could you please help me do this.  Thank you.

.
bear?. . . . a bear?? . . . . . . turn my gal into a bear??? . . . .

I asked my gal about it and she don't wanna be a bear.
Says she's worked too hard to get where she is
with all the clothes and jewelry she got now.

I'm inclined to sell her,
Lord knows I can use a couple grand,
but she knows my credit card numbers,
where i do my banking,
and what i did last Saturday night,
and she emphatically said "no way".

However, I got a dog that loves everyone,
and gets along with everybody,
(including burglars)
that would love to be your bear.

He's already boxed,
just let me know where to send.
