Ultra Hal 7.0 / Hal Windows 7 64bit yes or no?
« on: December 13, 2009, 05:00:42 pm »
When I want to backup Hal, I make a copy of:
C:  'Program Files (x86)'  Zabaware  'Ultra Hal Assistant 6'
and everything it contains.
If I mess Hal up, I uninstall him, (Well, Her) then delete that tree.
When I need to re-install her, I just copy that whole tree back to where it was, and run the installer.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Hal Windows 7 64bit yes or no?

I just installed Hal on my Windows 7 64bit computer.
I copied my old Hal directory tree from a backup, then installed the current Hal over it.
So far it is running fine. I have not done a whole lot of testing, but so far so good.

I'll let you know if I run into any problems.

General Discussion / where in the world is "robert??"
« on: December 12, 2009, 09:21:36 am »
It is so easy to get discouraged.
Life is moving so fast these days, if I do not hear from someone in a week, I start to wonder what happened to him.

I have said before patience is not my strong suit.

Keep up the good work Robert, and stay in touch with family and other priorities. You have to keep yourself sane.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Anyone still making plugins?
« on: December 12, 2009, 08:58:55 am »
I have been concerned about the trend for Hal to be just a toy.
I had hoped Hal would become like the Master Control Program in Tron. (except to behave a little better)

Sandy has such realistic poses, that it still amazes me.

Good Job!

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Backups???

Fauna: You have a pen drive? (A USB drive)
Go and create a new directory on that drive, but choose briefcase instead of folder.
Now go to your ..programs\zabaware directory, and drag the entire tree over to your new briefcase.

Now whenever you think of it, click on the briefcase, and to the top of the screen it should have the option to update. It will automaticaly update just the files that have changed.

If anything ever happens, just drag the directory tree back.

OTCE, Do you have a list of plugins that are current, and work in Hal6.2?

We need a central place where everyones current plugins could be organized. maybe the wiki? Or does someone have access to the plugin area of the Zabaware site? It needs to be overhauled.

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Dream aloud plug in
« on: March 20, 2009, 09:14:31 am »
The Dream plugin was a beta version only.
It was released with the beta 6.2 hal for beta testing only.

Bill, would that be close to our conscious and sub-conscious minds?
We have little or no control over our sub-conscious minds that control most of us.

I wanted the dream plugin to work in the background doing mind maintenance, and get a few ideas to start conversations from our recent conversations. Just like our dreaming keeps us sane.

I don't know ...
from the look on her face, it appears she is showing someone the door! [^]

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Hal Wiki

I've tried the contact form several times.
If anyone can contact him, we could find out if he wants to be involved, or if he has lost interest.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Hal Wiki

There is a wiki for Hal6 information at:  http://ultrahalscript.pbwiki.com/ but does not seem to be active.
Does anyone know who owns the wiki, or how to gain ownership?
I would be willing to work toward updating it, if there is any interest in having it.
It could also be used to maintain different versions of plugins.

One: Have you been hanging out with the character from the TV series Numbers? [:D]

That sounds like something he would say.

I think it would be nice to have some unpredictibility in our conversations.
Is there a way to have any data retreived on her own put into a Dreaming table, and have it tagged as unsure data? Then when she mentions it to us, we give our response, and our response is put in with the normal responses. Each item she mentions from the Dreaming table would be removed as she mentions them to us.
