Title: Chess? Opencyc?
Post by: jasondude7116 on March 17, 2009, 10:09:22 pm
I have seen these subjects brought up before.

Does anyone have any idea if there has been any work with interfacing OpenCyc?
(it seems like a daunting task for my level!)

How about interfacing a chess program if it was opensource?
I am interested in giving Hal the ability to "teach" and play chess.
and the most interesting thing.....being able to talk about it while you play, ala  hal9000.  I know it's a tough one! (way beyond me right now)

if anyone has heard anything, i am interested.
THANK YOU EVERYONE

Last year I looked for a VBS chess engine, but I didn't find one. If one shows up, it might be possible to patch it in.

This site offers an .ocx controller, this could be used in HAL to play a game of chess but I don't have time right now.

thanks for the replies dudes

i think i found a vb chess program at one time......somewhere....over...there?

i might still have it. or anyway, i think i can find one.

O.T.C.E. i always appreciate your time man.
OpenCyc is possible like wordnet, but a big project to interface it.[xx(]
it would add extreme amounts of knowledge though.
anyone who could take that on would be massivly improving Hal.[}:)]

I will look for the chess program and post it if me finds it
Mucho dinero, i mean gracias
