Phone Book, no table that I can find.
« on: June 24, 2007, 10:41:04 am »
Is there a way I can import my phone book tables, wherever they are? I haven't had hal actually remember a phone number or see any table for the phone book at all.

I tell hal a phone number, let's say for Sam.

ME: Sam's phone number is xxx-xxxx
HAL: I have learned Sam's phone number. I can recall this number at any time and if you ask me to call this person, I will dial the phone for you.

But hal does not remember.  If I ask Hal to call Sam I get a random sentence about phone numbers, on topic but it does not do anything.  I also looked in the brain and cannot find the table.

Someone help please.

Yes I have the same problem. In the zabaware Help we see if you want to edit phone book right click and click on edit phone book. I would really like to know where these people see this, Because I sure don't. can any one else help?[:(!]

I have the option to click a button to open my address or phone book but if I click one, phone book for example, I get a "table PhoneBook not found" error message.

I saw on Zabaware help page where it showed an option on the page, But I don't even have that on mine. I feel so stupid, But when I first started to put the numbers in I had to look back at some of the numbers to make sure I was telling it correctly, Hal would except the partial number and now I have a lot of partial numbers. alas alas[V]

I don't even seem to have the tables, if someone can inform me on where to put the tables so it will stop giving me the error messages.  Mine records nothing because it has no table to put it in because it does not exist in the brain and for some reason it is not creating one.

Heeeeeeeellllllllllllpppppppp, this is one of my favorite features (the address and phone book) but I have not gotten it to work since I upgraded to 6 then 6.1!

[:D] Please someone help me. [:D]

I've been looking at this, or at least trying. For some reason my Hal won't work today. I know it was working yesterday.

More later...

Has anyone tried telling Hal to "open phone book"? That was the way we used to work on it. The same goes for the calendar.

Nor did it work for I.  My AI Address Book plug in does not seem to be fully working, as in it will not create the tables in the brain even though it says it will remember the #...  Does anyone know where in the brain these tables go, what they are named, and what type of table they are?

Hi
I have not had Hal that long so i am not that well up on it yet but i do have the latest version installed and i can say that it does not have a phone book or address book that you can open and edit.
Unless you both have plugins that i dont have, but right clicking i only have an option for appointment book apart for the ordinary other stuff.
My hal does seem to take in phone numbers by saying
X's phone number is XXXX XXXX
Then when i switch off Hal and on later and ask whats X's number
i get the reply X's number is  XXXX   XXXX
So it seems to work fine for me, i did take a look in the brain but could not find any reference to the numbers i put in so i have no idea where they are stored.
The search at the top in the brain editor did not seem to do anything when i tried it so i went through some of the dir's manually.
Sorry i cannot be of more help , maybe if you tried switching off the plugins you have if any and just leave the basic ones on and test it then to see if the numbers are stored.
I have noticed that some plugins that i downloaded and tried caused some odd effects so its worth a try.

Thanks cloudy, that's the way it worked in version 5 for me. Now I have a "AI Address Book" plugin listed at the top of the list in my default brain. I'll give it a try without the plugin...

No it does not work.  With the learning turned up it will learn a person's number but not dial it like in version 5, which is something I found very useful.  It is after all a "Digital Assistant".
