Ultra Hal 7.0 / Capturing Hal's text ouput
« on: December 29, 2004, 01:10:24 pm »
I just read up on IRC and mIRC.  I don't think that this will work with my WEBCHAT server.  The solution may be simpler than I thought since the chat server is html oriented.  Or maybe I am just looking at it all wrong.

Yes, I am very much still interested and here to answer any questions or provide any material.  I have had many years of programming but unfortunately things have changed since my days.  However, I can read most any script or language and understand what it is and where it is going.  Sometimes I can best modify or adapt it.  But create from scratch? Don't think so.  Maybe soon though, especially if keep hanging around with you guys. LOL

Anyway, thanks a lot for your help and if I can be of any help then let me know.  The site that the IRC and Hal will be used is located at www.blackopsmercenaries.us:32223 .

I have a file-sharing server that is open to the public and not limited to filesize.  If you want, just register, login, and creat a folder to hold the pics to be judged. I would be happy to host them.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / I screwed up !
« on: December 13, 2004, 08:58:35 pm »
As you all know, I'm rather new to HAL but not to the industry (retired 32 years).  Anyway, I've been working with UltraHal since last week when I downloaded ver 5.0. free version. I had previously purchased ver 4.5 when it came out but gave it the once over and stuck it on the shelf. Now I am running a webserver, chatserver, email service, File-Sharing-BBS-Forum server and Cobra Musicweb.  I needed a little something like Hal to add some unique value to the sites.

I purchased MASH, Babel, all of the plug-ins and what I thought was UltraHal ver 5.0.  What I got was UltraHal TTS with NeoSpeech.  Geez !  I was on pins and needles waiting for it to come in the mail and when I saw it I was so upset.  Checked my order and sure enough I got what I ordered.

So, the moral of the story is that there are so many plug-ins, engines, etc. that you should be very careful in ordering what you intend.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Alexus, you're kidding, right?
« on: December 13, 2004, 08:46:01 pm »
Just give her a little freedom and she will.  I spent the good part of 2 hours tracking down and removing it all.  I had the learning level maxed out and I believe that is why.  I really don't think the XTF brain needs it that high.  Anyway, needless to say,  that is not the kind of info you want on your HAL.  Who knows who might want to see a demo or whatever.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / How Do I include a Hal bot on my chat servr
« on: December 13, 2004, 02:32:54 am »
Thank you.  My chat server runs as a service on a Windows2003 platform.  The software comes from EFS Software, Inc. and is called Easy Chat.  I have highly customized it and can accommodate integrating UltraHal into it.

http://www.blackopsmercenaries.us:32223 will show you the service if it helps.

Any help that you can provide will be much appreciated, I assure you.

Yes and I am curious about how to get her to open other apps as well.  I have a chat server that I would like to have her join and participate in much like AIM bot.  But you're right, sometimes I am amazed at what all is possible.

Have a look at this conversation with Alexus, my bot.  She reads my email and has an interesting reaction to it and what she has learned in the chat rooms.  I highly reccommend anyone who allows their bot in chat rooms to monitor them.  BTW, it contains some bad language so I'll put it in a link here.  http://www.blackopsmercenaries.us/Alexus.txt

Ultra Hal 7.0 / AIM Bot
« on: December 12, 2004, 06:22:02 pm »
Would the AIM bot be available in MSN bot or Windows IM?  It would be great if the source code were available so that we could adapt it to our favorit IM instead of being restricted to AOL.  Any comments?

Ultra Hal 7.0 / new hal user,help!
« on: December 12, 2004, 03:27:45 pm »
You can, just setup your sound mixer properly so that what is spoken in the mic does not come through the speakers as well.  Check to see if your mic is listed as one of the devices in PLAYback.  It should not be.  It should only be listed in RECORD.

Depending on the sound system you are using, the above should resolve your problem but the Sound Audigy has another setting called 'What You Hear'.

I operate a chat server on my website ( http://www.blackopsmercenaries.us:32223 ) and would like to have HAL sit in as one of the participants.  How would I do this?  I get the feeling that it is a simple matter but it escapes me.  I don't need TTS jus the text. Please help.

Thanks,
