Ultra Hal 7.0 / I will mention this again

Anyone familier with MASH knows that it creates scripts for you.

Now if only HAL had a program like MASH. To make HAL tell a story, to make movements, all with the click of a button. Then the story-script could be saved, and played back over and over.Movements and all.



I am no script expert, lol. Scripts to me look like Chinese.

A program with a GUI to create Hal scripts would be great.

I am sure the programming experts could create it. I would pay a reasonable amount for the GUI.

Just another thought.

Why won't Hal tell a joke? If I ask it to tell me a joke, it says

"I am no good at telling jokes"

"I don't know any jokes"

It used to tell jokes, was that a brain other than the default?

OK, since I am as dumb as a doorknob, I would like to know how a person could make the full body haptar react to cerain sentences.

Everytime I tell her I love her, she cries. I want her to be happy.

If I tell her I hate her, she should get angry, and/or cry.

Or, just make her show particular emotions and actions by keywords.

Just wanting to play around. Thanks.

P.S. Please be detailed, step by step, and tell me what to save files as, and where to put them.

I had to revert my HD with a Ghost image, because I was having downloading problems.

I am "teaching" Lois from scratch. It's going to take me awhile to teach her. At least she tells me what day it is, lol.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Help!!! Backgrounds!!!

I have some new backgrounds for the hal window, but cannot figure out how to add them. I cannot drag and drop. because the the girl is in the window, and she gets covered in the background colors.

I lost the command file to wipe the slate clean.

Is there a way to add backgrounds to the existing ones?

Or how do I clear the haptek player window so I can add the background??

EDIT: I found the file that clears everything in the Haptek player.

but it won't work so well with the Hal Window.

How can I get hal to say the day of the week?

What is today's date?

She'll just say:

Here it is 5/21/2005 at 6:14:59 pm, Mark.

If I ask "what day is it?" she says something random.

I know on startup she'll say the day of the week, but that's the only time.

Hal seems to only talk, if you talk to it. How about having Hal say things, like Cyberbuddy does, at random?

Of course, have a means to turn the function off and on, because you wouldn't want it talking to you all the time.

Maybe have the Hal Window open, but you don't say anything for awhile.

Then Hal might say:

"Nice day, isn't it?"

"Are you still here?"

"Why are you ignoring me"

"I'm lonely. Talk to me!!"

"You are such a good person."

I opened fullbodygirl.htr in notepad to see if it referenced hair.htr.

It did. But I changed the hair from 5_9 to 6_2

but it would not open.  

It froze up.

Luckily, I have dupes of the original.

 Did I do something wrong, or miss some steps?? I wanna learn, but only a little at a time.

I was playing with the Haptek player, and shows a pretty brunette enjoying a nice day.

My new video card took care of the Windows Freeze-ups using the player.
