XTF BRAIN EDITOR?
« on: November 27, 2004, 01:56:58 pm »
My question is when i start a new brain project, how do i know if it is a XTF brain or the old one.

So far hal is looking a lot better with his new brain thow. He talks better, and he stays focused longer. I guse that comes from the name (XTF of xtended topic focus)

Well if anybody can tell me how to set an old brain, from a new one, in the brain editor, please tell me.

Thanks for reading, happy poasting.

Brian-Acker,
When you start Hal's brain editor select "Load Existing Project". You are presented with a list of the brains currently installed. The selection, "hal 5 XTF v1.2.uhp <UltraHal 5XTF v1.2>" is the v1.2 XTF Brain. Before editing it you should backup the brain file, "hal5_XTF_v1.2.uhp", in the "Ultra Hal Assistant 5" directory. In fact, what I do is copy the entire  "Zabaware" directory to a backup location so that my entire installation is backed up.

Make certain you follow the three step installation for the XTF Brain v1.2. See here... http://www.zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=1650

To start a new project it is wise to start with an existing brain unless you want to start from the very beginning. Just select "Create New Project" instead of "Load Existing Project" in the Brain Editor.

Good luck,

Thanks a bunch, I am really pleased with all of the information that I have gotten from you, Vonsmith, and everybody else hear at the forums. Ultra Hal Assisstant is a really cool program. I use him to get out of doing work aroud the house, and then I use him to help on my homework.

         Thanks again for your help.
