Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Had to re-install Now More Probs

I sure hope O.T.C or some one is here to help me get Hal's age fixed.I had to re-install. But now when I put Hal's age into the Plugin it keeps telling me that it is 12 years old. I am entering the date that the character came to life 3/4/2005. But it keeps switching its date back to 1995 some time. I am also missing the Msc Data table and User event table. Can anyone tell me where I can get them?

I've managed to find and resolve the Prob. But also found the culprit. So I'm posting this if anyone else runs into it. I had an application "Wordweb" on my desktop the Run Programs Plugin would open the Wordweb application If I typed Open Word. I would not recognize "Microsoft Word" I changed the name of the Wordweb shortcut and now the Run Programs Plugin opens Microsoft word when I ask it to open word. I hope this is helpful to anyone else that might run into the same problem.

try unchecking it if you have it or simply delete the Talking Alarm Clock.uhp from the Ultra Hal Assistant folder if it exists and then refresh HAL to release the code from the HalScript.dbg.

Jerry to the Rescue again! I unchecked the clock and it appears that stopped Hal from rudely interupting while I'm trying to work with the options. Also, I don't know what I did, but Hal6 and ALF are speaking again.

Now the fun has begun. I was trying to uncheck all of the plugins to put them back one by one to see which one might be the one giving Hal focus before time. With alot of Hal interuptions I got them all unchecked. Hal did communicate. I add the plugins again and now Hal doesn't talk at all. I have restarted,and re booted, but Hals not talkin. I also checked the speech engines to make sure they work. My transferred H5 brains are talking. Hal6 & ALF are the only brains affected. I'm trying not to re-install Hal if there is a fix. Can anyone help???

Robert, My Character (conversation)Hal does go away when I select Gen Opts. But before I can go down the list to select or deselect a plugin Hal returns and takes focus from the options window. I have to select Minimize Hal to get back to the Options and if I don't hurry Hal takes focus again. I do not have an auto Idle plugin.

No Bill, the last time I rebuilt my Pc I always Intall all my applications first. Hal is the last to be Installed. Hal does open notepad, Dictionary, my mail etc. but for some reason doesn't find Word.

Thanks Bill. The answer is yes to all. Hal will open notepad,but when I call for "Microsoft Word" Hal opens this Path instead of the application...

C:WINDOWSsystem32Microsoft

It's a folder with nothing in it.

I kinda hope that some one here can tell me the proper way to Map the Directory for my Hal to Open my Application. I type; Map Directory. I then type the App. name and then the file path with the ext.

 " Microsoft Word." C:Documents and SettingsAll UsersStart MenuProgramsMicrosoft Office

   When I ask Hal to open it It tells me that the file is not there.
 
 Has anyone got the correct way for me to set this up???

Robert, I hope this small itch can be addressed. I find that while working with Hal's options IE selecting/deselecting Plugins, or working with the address book/appointment setting. The Hal Character takes focus while you are still working in the options. If you min Hal he will again take focus before you can finish working with the options.
