MSScript.ocx and AgentCTL.DLL problems FIXED
« on: September 01, 2001, 12:01:46 pm »
The first release of Ultra Hal Assistant 4.0 had some problems registering 2 components in the system registry. A new version has been posted on this site that fixes these installation errors. The free version can be downloaded from http://www.zabaware.com/assistant/download.html  The full version can be downloaded from http://www.zabaware.com/assistant/redownload.html

If you do not wish to redownload the entire program all over again, you may simply download the missing components. The MSScript.OCX component can be downloaded from http://msdn.microsoft.com/scripting/scriptcontrol/x86/sct10en.exe  The AgentCTL.DLL component can be downloaded from http://activex.microsoft.com/activex/controls/agent2/MSagent.exe

In addition to fixing these 2 problems, the updated version also contains the following improvements:
  • The full version now includes the new Microsoft SAPI 5.1 speech recognition engine instead of version 5.0. See http://www.microsoft.com/speech for more information on the new speech recognition engine.

  • A "Learn from a Text File" feature has been added to Ultra Hal's menu. This feature will allow Hal to read any text file and learn from the information inside of it.

  • COM port setting bug fixed. In the previous version it was difficult to configure Hal's phone dialer option because it wouldn't let you easily change the COM port. This has been fixed

  • Save option in the HalPad has been fixed. The previous version generated an error when you tried to save a file.
