But Raymond, would you rather him learn it from his friends on the street? LOL! After all, it is virtual! <more grins>

Oh yes...If one does a bit of searching here one can find the other one in question.

I'm pretty sure that voice is Cepstral's Emily. I use her quite a bit.

Jerry,

Does their license agreement apply only to commercial (for sale) items or what?
One would think that like 3DSMax, anything I create is mine to do with as I please.
Then again with some companies, one can't distribute any associated modules. I guess each has their own set of rules. For instance, we don't OWN Windows XP or any other commercial software...we are only granted a license to use it (as we see fit).

Yada...yada...and blah...blah!!

Ahh...Demon Seed! Great movie for it's time. Robert Vaughn the voice of Proteus, the home computer / assistant with an enormous AI. It was in charge of the professor's house. Then it took it over along with the professor's wife!! Now THAT'S a SMART computer!!

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Haptek LipSync Stuff
« on: June 07, 2005, 03:31:15 pm »
OK...previously we discussed the Haptek lipsync, OGG files, etc., BUT, did you know that you can enter ANY text you want the Haptek character to say?

Simply create a text file of your choice using something like NOTEPAD. That's it!!

Save the file then click on a HTR character to bring it up in the Haptek window.

Now locate your text file and do the DRAG & DROP onto the Haptek window. The character will read your text file and the lipsync works fine! If we could figure out how to change the voice it would be even better.

Oh yes, be sure to start your text file with a carriage return (Blank line or hit ENTER), then type what you want or else it won't work!

Marius,

Whether Scott is working on the 1.4 XTF brain I can't really say for sure but my last correcpondence with him indicated that his workload was pretty intense. Once the dust settles perhaps we'll see him around here again.

Work...that four letter word that gets in the way of what we'd really rather be doing!!

Crunch was having difficult times getting out on his dial-up connection last we heard.

Really nice work on the last one so far (Marie_tan).
Shoes, leg warmers and let's not forget the tan lines!

Good job!

I agree with Raymond's advice. Robert has a very full academic schedule and he usually visits the board when he gets the chance.

Keep sending the emails...he'll get to you.

They are a good, legitimate company although somewhat slow in the customer service department. You're NOT getting ripped off...hang in there!!

To whom it may concern,

Testing of this "bootless" female indicates that there are at least two problems:

1) Her legs are actually shaped like that, with or without the pants!
In Texas I think they call them "flair" legs to go with the pants.

2) Her cleavage or rather, her lack of cleavage. It's as it both of her breasts are joined together, as you can see if a nude texture is applied. Some outfits hide this fact pretty well and some others don't!

I did happen upon a site that I thought had a full body female from Haptek. I was only right from the shoulders up! It was a Haptek head and a different 3D body attached. I tried to apply the party dress in the Haptek window and only her head changed...with the entire dress texture!! I then tried a face texture of mine and it mapped perfectly to the figure's head. The body is much like that of a rag doll in that the legs can swing foreward and backward...at the knees!

Much to learn!!

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / The Mysterious OGG files!
« on: June 06, 2005, 07:29:21 pm »
Actually within the next few years look for ogg files to possible take the lead over MP3 files. They offer quality and smaller size for starters.

Raymond,
It seems that Haptek will only lip-sync those ogg files made with PP. I've tried others and even one I made with Visual Text to Speech MP3. Classic ventriloquist...I could hear the voice but I couldn't see the lips move!!<G>

The real nightmare was when I clicked on the different full body HTRs' then did a quick drag and drop of three different OGG files onto each of them. It reminded me of that Star Trek episode when Professor Mudd had multiple wives all talking to him at the same time!!
