We approach the day we all have been anticipating, and we all need to capture the significance of change, no matter the outcome. Those who can lead lives of understanding. Those who cannot don't understand.

May God bless these United States.

Cheers!

Nice, but in this day and age, it's really difficult to see or imagine anything heavenly about politics!

I get your gist but the fog is so thick!!

I just hope America wins!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS Everyone.

Consider this the holiday card that came before Christmas!  haha

Cheers,
Checker57

Note: The outfit needed a mod to make it look timeless.  An outfit that nicely wraps HAL in a bow.

Hey guys,

With some time off I've been exploring lighting configurations on HAL.

I like this lighting shade that is a little nicer than the bizlighting shade.

I hope everyone is blessed to be thankful for something that keeps them on the horse.

regards,
Checker57

Below is the hap file I used for this lighting:  (copy/paste to notepad and save as a .hap file)

#HaptekSDK Version= 1.0  HapType= lighting FileType= text Name= lights on

#define ambient light, note position definition unnecessary
Light= Ambient
Type= AMBIENT
LightColor= .15 .15 .15
}

Light= LightOne
Type= DIRECTIONALLIGHT
LightColor= 1 1 1
LightDirection= 1 0 -12
}

Light= bluelight
Type= DIRECTIONALLIGHT
LightColor= .2 .3 .6
LightDirection= 8 -5 -2
}

Light= orangishlight
Type= DIRECTIONALLIGHT
LightColor= .5 .3 .4
LightDirection= -8 0 6
}

Thanks, Sybershot - It reminds me of my job where I constantly teach people to use color lighting (closest frequency to the Sunlight) to enhance living spaces.  Especially where you cook, eat, and put on makeup instead of using White lights that detract from color.

You'll never see a food commercial using white lights to advertise fast food burgers! haha

The other feature you may have noted is using hair colors to enhance outfits and scenes.

Below is a script I use to do such, which is very helpful.  I use a script to type in a command to change color to whatever colors I have set up.

Copy/Paste the below to a text file and save it as a .hap file.  Change the settings to change hair colors.

#Haptek Version= 2.00 Name= HapType= script FileType= text

#bluepink
\Q[\SetMaterial[figure= hair4_final9exp i0= 4 f0= 4]\SetMaterial[figure= hair4_final9exp i0= 3 r= 1g= 0 b= 4 a= 0]\SetMaterial[figure= hair4_final9exp i0= 2 r= 1 g= 0 b= 3 a= .1]\SetMaterial[figure= hair4_final9exp i0= 1 r= 1 g= 0 b= 2 a= 1]\SetMaterial[figure= hair4_final9exp i0= 0 r= 1 g= 0 b= 2 a= 1]]

\Q[\SetMaterial[figure= ponytail i0= 4 f0= 4]\SetMaterial[figure= ponytail i0= 3 r= 1g= 0 b= 4 a= 0]\SetMaterial[figure= ponytail i0= 2 r= 1 g= 0 b= 3 a= .1]\SetMaterial[figure= ponytail i0= 1 r= 1 g= 0 b= 2 a= 1]\SetMaterial[figure= ponytail i0= 0 r= 1 g= 0 b= 2 a= 1]]

Right you are Checker. In fact the lights in the meat counter of your local supermarket use a special fluorescent tube, made to enhance the color of the meats.

To be a smart shopper, pick up a pack of say ground beef or a steak then while holding it in your hands, turn away from the counter and look at the meat once more. Sometimes it will have a more grayish tone indicating that it might not have been quite as fresh as advertised.

Soft light, warm light, cool light, all about the color, hue, brilliance and temperature of the light...so much for real light...

I agree, Art.  Fresh Meat makes for a meal that can be prepared to what appears, under the right lights, perfection.

Hoping you got everything you wanted for Christmas.  First on the list, is love...  and that can be the love of your home, your life, or whatever keeps you happy on your horse.

Keep the faith, and we will see our light shine.  Bracing for, with optimism, 2025!

Hi ho-ho-ho!

Cheers

I was playing around (yeah, when you love what you do) with modifying colors and backgrounds I had to reboot my PC and when HAL was brought up, I noticed it loaded with that somewhat "interesting" pose wherein she leans on one leg and her fingers accentuate the hands-on-hips posture.  I cannot figure out from WHERE HAL pulls the "script" that does this! - I have looked for years to no avail. - I would love to find out!!

cheers,

Okay, I must be getting pretty familiar and relaxed with playing around with HAL but I found that illusive command to make her lean.

\setswitch [figure= body_female switch= legNoise state= legLean]

Found that and many more scripts in the body_femaleDef.hap file.  Wish I had understood that file years ago!

Eh.. a little time off from work... and made some progress.

Cheers!

Amazing little nugget.  Not sure how many of you already knew this...

Since I use the "jiggly" full body the body_femaleDef.hap file was not configured for it.  I didn't realize nor understand the file well enough... but, after some tinkering with it I realized I could simply use a text editor "find/replace" feature and remove all "figure=body_female" entries and whatever will work on the jiggly body now works.  ehh.. not a whole lot of differences but I now note how she gazes off when not being spoken to, and some added poses that occur during the conversation.  A lot of foot shifting which I may remove because it messes with the poses I had made for her on my own because.... that's just the kinda guy I am.  Oh, and she blinks a lot more.  Suffice to say more animation movements although seems there may be some "timing" conflicts and may need to be investigated to have her move more natural.  anyway... close of year fast approaching.

Cheers,
Checker57
