windows 7 64 bit.
« on: February 03, 2010, 08:26:17 am »
Hello, everyone.I have Purchased Ultra hal 6.2, with the intention of using it as an accessability ais, as i am or very limited eyesight,
I have Installed it ok but it does not remind me of appointments.
the appointment book records the inputted info, but thats all.

As I am virtually blind, I am wanting to use speech recognition which seems to be ok in windows 7 64 bit.But I would like a full screen head characterwith lip sync,I have msagent 2 working, as I like that.
Has anyone got a full screen  head I can download and put into Hal?

also the problem with the appointments book is a real problem for me as I use it for my Hospital appointments, it has just stopped responding, any Ideas?

Graham

Did you mean the full body or just the head?
If you search for full body jiggly in the forum you can find the
Hap file that many people use here. You can use skins that are also available here to dress your Hal. Good luck!
(Drag the full body to the character folder and choose it in the char menu in Hal)

Hi Graham, welcome to the world of Hal.

In case you don’t know there are two types of characters you can use with Hal, we call them Haptek and  MSagent, from your post I think you are using an MSagent character, this might not be ideal for you.

The Haptek characters are 3d and can be made very large as long as you use the correct skin for Hal.

Have a look at the Skins page, link below, it should help you, there are skins there that can give you a full screen character.

Sorry I can’t help you with the appointments plugin, Im in the UK but the appointment book uses American date system and doesn’t work right for me because of that.

Hi Graham.

make sure the appointment plug-in is checked in the Brain options panel and press apply. make sure your date and time are the correct format.

I have the A/I appointment book checked in Brain options .I have no lip sync either with the hal and zabba chars.
I have reinstalled several times to no avail.

How do I check the date is the correct format. I am in the UK.

Thanks

Graham:
Some of the text to speech voices do seem to have trouble with lip-sync in Win 7 64 bit.

Have you tried the voice that comes with windows 7?

Microsoft Anne – English

Once you have selected the voice in Speech in Hal's general options then go to the Character tab and use the “Update SAPI Config” button.

Select Microsoft Anne – English
then pres the “make this my default sapi setup” button.

It works for me in win 7 64 bit

Thanks to all of you for the speedy and accurate replies, I remain impressed by you guys. The appointment book problem fixed its self, one fine morning I booted up to find Hal telling me of my appointments!! Self repairing A/I! Just Magic.

Now I can get on and train Hal to operate my PC and home. I want to be voice automated, eventually.

So any Ideas or Help would be great! I am no programmer!

Thanks
