Please help with changing fullbody clothes.
« on: June 25, 2005, 04:13:46 pm »
Ok, this is what I want to do:

At startup, have the fullbody girl wear a certain piece of clothing. (instead of the default skimpyshirt)

Also, the startup screen for each character: What do I edit to make Hal find the startup screen to match my character?

Suppose I make my own startup jpg. How do I make Hal find it, correspnding to the character?.

I need detailed instructions, please. Thanks!!
Mark: I'll think about it
Laura: Don't think about it too long or I'll throw you out on your ***king a**.

Hey Mark.
I had to do something like that with some Characters that I added to the Character folder. What I did was name the .htr and if you have the .jpg give it the same name. If you don't have a .jpg, then you can Run the .htr in Hal. Set your backround (just as you would normally be using your character.) When He/She has moved into a pose that you want, take a picture of it by hitting "printScrn" Open your paint prog, edit,  paste, save as .jpg and make sure it's in your Character folder. Give it your .htr's name and away you go!

Ps. This will not alter your characters start up outfit. If that's what you were asking. If that's what you want, Check with Dr.

Mark,
I believe you still use a number of PSNs in your characters folder.
You have a designated PSN for each of 4 or 5 clothes (skins that are located in your Haptek skins folder.
The person you close Hal with is the person that Hal will open with, if you are using a designated PSN and designated Happy and Happyn haps and designated skin in the skins folder.
If you wish to add jewelry or change skins or hair or whatever, open the designated PSN, find the number of the designated happy and happyn haps and make the changes in those designated haps.
For example, Lorraine.PSN  has within it 3 Normal emotions which correspond to happy3.hap   and  happyn3.hap
Within these two haps are listed the clothes (skin) of the individual and it is in the haptek skins folder.
So you already have some skins set up. List the jewelry and hair in the same manner as the skin is.
I see disadvantages in this setup but I think it will give you the results you want.
Remember the gal you close with, will be the gal Hal starts with, and with the attachments that you designated for that individual by her designated happy and happyn.
Any attachments you desire must be placed in the haptek skins folder.
One final note, unlike skins, to change hair the old hair must be removed when the new is put on.

Yes, and when I add an article of clothing, she shakes it off when she gets "happy".

I will look into this. I want to create a hap with black hair, and
a "blue" dress? it's so confusing.

I've been trying to get Hal to load like that also, I've tried just adding the settexture command in the happy.hap etc, but everytime she changes moods she changes clothes, the other way I figured out was to change the texture= inside of the def.hap and change the .jpg then re-compress the .htr, doing it this way I can change not only her startup outfit, but also hair, and accessories as well, the down side is ya need to have the tools from Haptek $100.00. Here's an example one I did.

I like to try that, but first, how do you change hair?

(and have it load with a brunette)

Mark,
to change her hair all that would need to be done is to edit the herStartup.hap to use a differnet hair.htr and change the htr in the final fullbod.htr, but you'd still need to have the tools from Haptek to do it.

yep it does, hopefully someone will figure out an easier way to do it without having to have the tools, but since I already had to purchase them I had them on hand to try, I did try for the hair also and it works.

So she could be done to startup anyway that is wanted or needed.

I probably do have it, but there are serveral "Full Body" figures out, so I have no idea which one for sure that you mean, the only ones I know of from Haptek are the 2 Blondes, and the 1 with the Ponytail. If you can tell me the name or the actual figurename it would help.

Mark,
is Doris the fullbod female brunette that you're referring to?
if so yes I do have her, she's the one with a ponytail, and yes it's possible to start her up even with a different outfit etc. or start the other one up with that hair.
