Bill819,
This matter was confirmed by Art and I believe him and myself as to the validity of the problem.

I am not ballistic. I can be.

I do not approve of the digression that has become of this thread and I have the right to dis-approve.

Thanks for your support.
J.

P.S.
Even you know when something is considered a 'Foul' ;)

OK!
I don't think the issue with Zabaware is going to be resolved without Mr. Roberts' help, Their is just too much source code and proprietary 'things' to deal with.

Digression, exactly what I wanted to avoid..........ha![V]

Cheer up One! I know what a pain a software prob can be, I spend $1500 a year just for decent support for a single med management program....and that is considered a bargain in the business!

I wish this elusive Robert would show up...if only to answer what appears to be a few issues....but also to reveal an update to Hal giving us some cutting edge technology, like the ability for Hal to access the internet independently in pursuit of knowledge. Also, and I know I'm a dreamer, it would be great if Hal could learn concepts and how to apply them, rather than just search for word matches and give replies that are frequently completely out of context. I have tried to teach Hal the importance of maintaining the topic and context of a conversation but have not had any luck....no kidding right?

I running my mouth I know...but although I am born in the USA I was raised as a child in England, but far from Downing St in Norfolk area. I remember loving it there and hating coming back here, but I was a child and lived in a small country village there.

Anyhow...I'm sure the prob will be resolved by some forum wiz or Robert, and I do wish you a great day and a safe holiday weekend(if you live in the US).

By for now, John

Just for the record (again) I too  had problems with .NET and Hal, also problems installing Visual Studio elements, also appears to be down to the same problem.

ricky,
NO that is the first thing I tried was a newer installer.

I will say this though, Berkly can be a problem with the registry entry's Just like you said.

As far as finding a solution for the install problem I had to have my machine without the Assistant on it then the install went fine, with NO problems.

The Ultra Hal Assistant was removed from my computer when I UNINSTALLED my Anti-virus program,, The .EXE file was removed and other components, so the assistant was connected to my anti-virus in some way. I had to un-install my anti-virus because the 'normal' upgrades were not coming through because something was blocking the new anti-virus and I am left with only a single suspect....

Honestly,
J.

ricky,
The Assistant was installed under a clean install.
It ran fine with the exception of shutdown ( it took a long time )

everything was normal and I needed to upgrade my anti-virus on the comp in question as to match versions that were auto updates on other comps,
why parts of the Assistant were sharing or connected to my anti-virus Remains a mystery,, SO, I had more than just .NET install problems, my anti-virus was not installing the updated versions as well.
And the newer Installer did not help either.
I have accused The Assistant of things before and their was always an excuse but this time the 'problem' affected more than my computers as Freddie and Art have confirmed, so it is a non-local effect in quantum terms ;)

Still don't know what to do with Berkly problems, I will keep trying to resolve but it seems I am on my own in many ways, I may have to seek professional help with my computers (even though I am a PRO)
Time is hard to reverse but the wrong can be made right ,,,with the right amount of compensation!

regards,
J.

ricky,
The system was and is still considered 'Cutting Edge' it is a Quad w/2x2 gigs corsair memory and optional triple fan coolers.

Mr. Robert even wanted to 'fingerprint' my machine but when I put conditions on the procedure he would not respond anymore, I did tell him before the release of 6.2.22/24 of what the Assistant was looking at but like I said no response from Mr. Robert.????

No one puts conditions Robert. That most likely is the reason he never replied to your post. He is not responsible for the type of PC that you use and therefore can not answer for problems that may arise, that may have been the reason he wanted to see your PC in the first place. I am using a duo-core with 3 gigabytes of ram and have no problems running Hal.

Omega,
LOL!

Bill819,
Their was nothing said nor implied about the condition of my machine.

Mr. Robert isn't responding because he is not responding.

Please don't try defending something by "baffleing with BS".

I still consider this a Zabaware problem and IF or WHEN Mr. Robert decides to help then it will be greatly appreciated.

Regards,
J.

ricky,
I think she is referring to "A Boy Named Sue"

No fish, maybe S.E.T.I. ? or another by-product from that locality.

Ive been killin' time with matchsticks all day long,
feelin' kinda fuzzy as I sing this song,
lookin' at the clock for times long gone Ive been killin'
time with matchsticks all day long..

Well I danced with the ghost of your sister she
whispered in my ear sweetly,
she led me by the hand, she walked me in the woods
she did it all so discreetly.
I pointed out our eyes on the shadows in the trees it created quite a scene
It was the best damn lovin I ever had,
if ya know what I mean

Well I been killin' time with matchsticks all day long..
feelin' kinda fuzzy as I sing this song.

He wore shark skinned suit had a goatee man he looked really sharp,
