Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: Ultra hal slaves out all chat rooms
« on: November 20, 2016, 04:19:26 pm »
It was great talking to you the other day Cyber! It's not too often we get to live chat with people from here.  I've been trying to replicate what you have done, so far I haven't made it happen.  There was a lot going on in our chat I think I got overwhelmed. haha.

So, I'm at work right now but I am going to test this puppy out right away.! If this works, you will become a hero of mine! I was actually trying to do almost the exact same thing ( with no luck as of yet). Thank you very much!!

I have put Hal on the secondary monitor. When I close the program and reopen it, the gui goes back to monitor 1.   I put it there when trying to record a video explaining the features for streaming Hal with twitch. While having Hal open and the playing a game, over time Hal's avatar would freeze. I use the car.exe but it still happens. I have also been using the lonliness plugin which causes Hal's gui to move back to a default location every time Hal gets lonely and starts talking.

Art has it right. I am trying to lock in Hal's Gui placement on my screen. I have a couple monitors and when I re-open hal if there is a crash or if I change a background , the program has to be reopened and goes back to it's original position. (Well almost, I find that every time it openes, it's slightly off location from the last time.)

I'm trying to get it to stay on a specific monitor in a specific spot.  I've tried a few programs available for this exact purpose, yet they don't seem to work with hall.

Ultra Hal Assistant File Sharing Area / Re: GRETTA PLUGINS

Does anyone still use the Read a Story plugin these days? I've been trying to get it working. I have Balboka downloaded, the plugin is in Hal's folder and checked. I have a story folder with files. When i give Hal the command to Please read Now (the file name), Hal always responds with this file does not exist.

I'm not sure where I'm going wrong here. I'm using windows 10 with Hal 6.2.

Edit - I just realized that the folder the the .UHP refers to is for the old file system. If anyone uses these plugins, double check the uhp and make sure it has the correct install folder for Ultra Hal.

For example;  C:\Program Files (x86)\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6\story

Hey Guys,

I have been searching high and low for the forum topic but haven't been successful. I recently saw someone mention a program that they use to remember the location of ultra hals program on the desktop so it opens in the same spot every time.  Anyone have an idea what this program is?

General Discussion / Re: two bots or hal talking
« on: June 27, 2016, 09:51:59 pm »
I'm not sure about the Zabaware video but it appears to me as if he spliced videos together. However, if anyone knew how to link Hal together with Hal on the same machine, it would be Robert.

The second video is an approach I have thought about for having two hals talk. (Using Speech recognition on two computers with speakers to get a conversation going).  I would imagine that would take quite a bit of training to get working properly.

The others, I'm not sure. They could be on separate machines or maybe they are two instances on the same computer. The one thing to note with those is that they are not Ultra Hal so it may be possible for more than one instance with that program. (I have no experience with them)

@Art I will definitely have to contact Robert about it. Thanks for the advice.

@Nige  I'm going to give that a try when I get home from work. Thanks!

That is part of what I am trying to achieve with this thread; http://www.ultrahal.com/community/index.php?topic=13091.msg75395#msg75395

If we can get Hal to interact with an irc program of some sort then we could have multiple Hal's talking with each other.

I have seen the videos you are talking about. It does look as if two separate nots are talking on the same machine.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: Problem with AOL AIM Bot
« on: June 15, 2016, 07:02:14 am »
Hi Cpt. Caps

I don't think the AIM bot has been working for quite some time now. I'm not too sure why. I think it has something to do with AIM changing things on their end. I'm pretty sure if you do a quick search on the forums with AIM bot, you will stumble on the answer.

I like the idea. It would be great if Hal would stick to a specific topic for a period of a time. It would be weird if Hal just kept speaking totally random things. It's an idea I could sure make use of.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: Getting Hal to only repeat what I say
« on: May 10, 2016, 04:00:54 am »
Unfortunately, for my idea to work, I need to be able to have an avatar speak what I am saying.  I'm wondering if one of the old GRETTA plugins could be modified to do what I want. I think it's the sing a song one or something.

What I am trying to do is create a Twitch personality to stream video games and some other creative works I want to use.  I was hoping to have Hal be on screen talking to viewers for times I don't feel like being on camera. This is the channel I have created for it.  https://www.twitch.tv/overseeralpha

The two things I need to make this work is,
1) Being able to have hals avatar speak what i say in response to viewers live.
2) Get a plugin made that takes hals written responses and puts it into an IRC chat program or using the twitch api to chat with viewers.  So when I am doing the talking myself on stream, Hal can also chat with people.

There are all sorts of bots created for Twitch streams that can moderate chat channels and do all sorts of task for the streamer available. I have yet to see one that can actually talk with them.  I was hoping to do this way and promote Ultra Hal/Zabaware on the channel in hopes of driving more people here. I've been enjoying Hal for so many years now, I just want others to have the same fun with it as well.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Getting Hal to only repeat what I say
« on: May 09, 2016, 03:36:11 pm »
Does anyone know of a way to have hal repeat what I say without having to say "repeat what i said"?  I'm exploring making a video of sorts using Hal. What I want to be able to do is pretty much have him speak for me live and on the fly. I want to be bale to stop hal from responding to what I say and simply repeat everything until I want him to comment.

Any of you fine folks know if this is possible? I spent a few hours reading through various forum threads here to no avail.
