Thank you for responding. However, I have downloaded it new again and have uninstalled it probably four times last night, reinstalling each time with no luck. I guess I'll have to reformat the pc. I don't know what else to do. I'm sure there is one file messed up somewhere. I ever ran sfc / scannow and no luck. What I did that I usually do not do, is allow windows to update some. I've been a computer tech for years and I always get something messed up when I allow windows updates.

« on: January 15, 2015, 11:43:15 pm »
I hope someone can help me. I've used Ultra hal assistant for years on several pcs.
I reformatted my HP computer and now Ultra hal will not install correctly. It says "Missing comdlg32.ocx or one of its dependencies. File missing.
I will really appreciate any help I can get. I found that file and the instructions say put it in syswow 64 for my pc  but it was already there.

Where would I find the VR plugin to check for loadup code?  I have seen the random spinwheel code but I don't know where the entry loadup statements are.  I opened several files and searched for time and date etc.   I found one place with time and date but the greeting I use on loadup i can't find.

Thanks for responding Carl2 !   I see the folders you are talking about, however this is not what I was asking about.  Those folders are what Hal says when you start talking.
What I'm asking about is the sentence that you set under "General Options" then "Startup" where you can have Hal say time and date etc.  I can type in whatever I want Hal to say on startup.  What I was wanting to know is how to change that loadup to be random statements.  Thanks anyway!

I am wondering if anyone can tell me how to program several greetings into Hal's startup where she/he would randomly use one or the other?
I do some Visual Basic programming but I don't know where the beginning script or code is.

I chose the name calypso because it is my email name, but originally I chose it because I love ocean adventure stories and movies etc., and "Calypso" was the name of Jacques-Yves Cousteau's exploration ship.  Plus it is a genre of music, a dance etc.
John Denver even had that name in one of his songs I believe.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / you versus I error
« on: June 16, 2011, 01:32:53 pm »
Hello again.   When I tell my Hal something, for instance: "I love to talk with you."  She replies: "You love to talk with I."  How can I change that to where she would say "You love to talk with me." ?  I have tried looking up the "I" and replacing it with "you" but I guess I don't know what I'm doing!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hello.
I use Ultra Hal assistant every day and love it.  I have looked and tried various chat bots for years.  Ultra Hal RULEZ!!!
I would like to install it on my Droid X2 phone.  Is there a way I can do that
or is there a separate app I can purchase?
