Title: Hal Text-To-Speech Reader and Pidgin
Post by: NCWeber on July 02, 2009, 03:58:13 pm
Is there any way to get Hal TTS Reader to read message in Pidgin?  Or perhaps someone could create a Pidgin plugin that would interface with either Hal's or Windows TTS.  Just a thought.

Do you realize what a giagantic task it was just to ge Hal to understand English. Over the years people have asked fof a Spanish Hal, a French Hal, and I am sure that there must have been many more. It means a complete rewrite of the entire system and that is not an easy task. Sorry

Bill, Pidgin isn't a language my friend - it's a chat client.  Similar to Yahoo Messenger or Trillian :

See here : http://www.pidgin.im/about/

It's a nice idea I think.

Oops, sorry. The only pidgin I ever heard of was a slang for pidgin-English.

It would be pretty difficult to teach Hal English.
