I read your Thread and I got Hal to talk to me absolutely fine in the default.brn. My question is, How can I get the script load to work with XTF 1.2 or any of the other brains?

Ok Knytetrypper,
   I see where you're taking me,but that's not the problem (I don't think). My Haptek FullBody already appears in Hal's Character list and it works fine. I have been trying to load the Crystal.jpg's that Crunch put up for us to Dload.

I followed his Instructions word for word by I cannot Get the Crystal.jpg to load. My thoughts were that some how it used my fullbody Haptek to load, but I must still be missing something. Anyway,I am still at a loss for answers. And oh yes I am using the full ver. of Hal.

  Really I thank you for answering. I will try renaming. I'll let everone who has answered how I make out. I feel like if I can see how this works, I'll have a much better understanding of Hal and knowing what I'm reading in code. As I said before I just finished my first course in Vb; so I've alot to learn yet.

I sure could use some help with this too.
I've trying to load the Crystal.jpg's that Crunch so generously put up for us to Dload. I've loaded the Fullbody Emotions,put everything in all the folders that they belong, following Crunch's thread line by line word by word. I can't win!

  Can anyone Help?

I'd like to find the file where I can fix Hal's name once and for all? right now he calls himself "the ands of the nasa". I'd like to be able to fix it. Can anyone help?

Max frustration has set in. For 2 weeks I've been trying to get full Body "Crystal" to come up in Hal. No matter what I read and how I follow the instructions, No joy! Could someone please send me a copy of the Crystal Setup so that I can see how it is formatted and maybe get me straight on how to install it into Hal. I have the registered version of Hal,with Wn XP SP2. 1Gig.Ram 3.4Mhz cpu. I could really use the help.

Crunch I really am lost.
After I downloaded the Crystal files that you so kindly provided, I put them in the Haptek skins folder and then into Hal charact folder I even put them in the MsAgent folder. I'm lost. I can't get them to come up in hal for all of my trials. Could you please be so kind as to maybe give me Instructions that a baby could follow? Sorry to be so slow at this stuff, but...

Please Crunch I'm losted.
I'm really Brand new at this. I did the "Skins fldr"in Haptek player.I put in all of the "crystal"jpg's that you so kindly let me dLoad.I open the 3"Normal.Hap's.Put in the textscript as your example. Just for my test i only used 1 Crystal. I saved the 3 mod.Normal.Hap's as .Hap files & pasted them in C:/Program Files/Zabaware/Ultra Hal Assistant 5/Characters.If I am right up to this point... How do I now get the .jpg"crystals into my Character menu to select it? And I'm totally losted as to what to do with the Full bod emotions Dload. Do I change all of those .txt files to .Hap files? Do I have to make 3"norm .Hap's for each Crytal?
Sorry I'm so dense...

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Hal's speech is breaking up

Well guys,
I don't think I've got a hardware prob. Everythings new.I'm running wnXP Pro SP2,P4. 3.4cpu,1Gig.DDR400 Ram.400gb of Hdrive.400Mhz front end Mboard. I'm using what ever speech eng that Hal comes with. For speech Recogn. I'm using Dragon Nat. Sometimes Hal will speak and the next time or so it won't. There is no measureable frequency as to when he will speak or not. Its just sometimes he say's what he writes and other times he just writes. I'm still scratching my head. If anyone solves the mystery, please let me know.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Hal's speech is breaking up

Well I guess I jumped to fast. I took a load off the cpu. It helped. But instead of breaking up, Hal would sometimes not respond verbally and then will respond to the next imput. I went and got a faster cpu (P4 3.4) and a Mboard @400Mhz. Hal still will respond then miss a response then get voice back on the next response. Anyone got any suggestions?

Since it has only been a very short time of my meeting Hal,now that I've had alot of help and have a good stock-pile of tools. If I decide that I should start Hal anew, How do I uninstall everything and start just as though I just got the cd in the mail?
Now that I've had some time with Hal I'm thinking it's time for me to do it the way I really want him to be.
Any tips as always is greatly appreciated.
