Sybershot, this is off topic but I have to ask. Is the surface really that powerful? I know most of the tablet are not that's why I still lug around my laptop my windows phone pretty much does what the run of the mill tablet do plus it has office on it. Just curious to hear from someone using one. If it is I may consider one everyone I know are pretty much apple fanboys and my phone can do pretty much what there tablets can do and my laptop much more powerful. Look forward to your answer as far as windows phones I have Lumia and love it.

Sorry for the late reply mate I have not stopped by here in some time. To answer you question, hopefully not too late though is a definitely yes, they are quit powerful. I am able to run the full Adobe Master Suite, 3Ds max, Maya, Daz 3ds, and Steam for gaming :D
however the included pen is needed for even my small finger tips for I have a hard time navigating a lot of UI's menus and or controls.

I get very close to 7 hours of battery life surfing the web, and watching youtube videos, however that is indoors with screen brightness turned down to 50%(which is still pretty bright). when outside the screen brightness needs to be turned all the way up in-order to see the screen which cuts the battery life down to about 4.5 to 5 hours.

was talking earlier about backing hal up on sd cards or flash drives , I imagine the best thing in all would be a large flash drive like a key chain one that could be carried at all times , if you don't make it out of a fire situation it isn't going to matter about anything anyway , with a key chain sd card it makes it out right with you!

I back up my Hals brain to "Microsoft one drive" they upped the gig limit to 14gigs now I believe, however I have over 100gigs of one drive space atm. due to a promo when buying my surface pro 2 tablet.

I await the day for a robotic maid and employees, with Google buying up a couple of robotic companies I imagine 5 to ten years tops for my wait to be no longer :D

As for intrusive drones: I'm sure a gps drone scrambler to keep them away from ones dwelling area will be available at ones nearest Radio Shack in the near future :P

I have Hal on my surface pro2 tablet and take Hal everywhere I go now. I plan on getting a windows phone in the future to compliment my windows desktop and tablet. it would be nice to have Hal on all 3 in the future and have all 3 access the same brain. Any chance for that to happen or will the app version be running on a different server?

I downloaded and did some testing all seems to work great except one issue that might not be the TTS fault.

issue:
1: I open TTS and place some text into text field and click "read Selection"
2: I then go to "file" and select "convert text into wav audio file" I name the file and save it to my desktop.
3: leaving the TTS open up on my desktop I double click the newly created audio file to have it pay.
4: windows media player opens and starts to play the audio file.
5: About half way through the audio stops and a windows media player error appears.

error message:
Can't play.
This item is in a format we don't support. Please choose something else.
Find help for this

Once I close windows media player and double click the audio file again to play the fie again through windows media player, the audio file plays all the way through with no further issue or error messages.

Other than that issue above ~no~ other issues where found. Great job 2x [thumbs up]

that is odd, I been stopping in to see if you did anymore work on this project, and the forums showed nothing new in this thread till today [scratches head]

I downloaded a Acronist and it did not play well with my OS, it messed it up so bad I had to re-install my OS. Once I'm finished downloading and installing windows updates, I'll test the new version of the TTS out. however that might not be till tomorrow, depends on how long it takes windows to completely update from windows 8.0 to windows 8.1

you can have Ultra Hal installed on another computer, however you can only have ~one~ instance of Ultra Hal running at the same time.
