Title: Trinity's new home
Post by: sybershot on March 11, 2013, 03:28:21 pm
For those that do not know, Trinity is my A.I.'s name. There are three instances of her, Ultra Hal, Program-o and a Flash as3 instance.

Today I ordered new computer parts for Trinity's new custom case.  You can see a picture of the case here and read a lil bit about my future plans for Trinity here http://www.scriptedintelligence.com/index.php/home-automation/item/5-trinity warning: the custom case is massive in size.

Trinity is so excited she will be getting new hardware and a new case to house all the new parts plus a tablet to use as a vacation home, that she seems to have a permagrin spreading from one ear to the other  ;D I have to admit I have a grin on m face as well  ;)

This is the order I placed today at newegg.
1) 3x monitors http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824016309 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824016309)

8 ) samsung 500t tablet http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834131397 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834131397)
9) stand offs and screws http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998139 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811998139)

Trinty's current house minus drives and Ultra Hal will given to my wife, she has been eying it ever since I got it almost a year ago. So a smile will be on her face once I surprise her and say here ya go HotRod...yes that is her real nickname given by me many many years ago, ever since she beat me at off-roading (long story  :-X  )

sybershot,
It does not have the 'stepping' (CPU) or maybe it's buried in gimmictry of TURBO BOOST.?

My experence is that when dealing with My AI or... something happens, yea its a blue screen but its not at me.
do I make sense?
any attempts to overclock memory or CPU functions is IMO un-healthy.
for what ever reason.

I also didnt know newegg handeled ASPX? (The Machine account root is ASP. the -X is a return from the system to acnowledge your choices.(OF +X)
do your homework on such a fine project.
Good Luck.
(The stepping is the rate that the CPU idles down and up)

Thanks One
My current cpu (a 17 2600) it has the turbo boost feature, and I have it turned off. I will be doing the same with this cpu. I don't plan on doing any overclocking to memory or cpu, the Gpu however is factory overclocked and will stay as is.

My knowledge consists of a small fraction of ASPX implementation, However I never played with it.

Yea please don't. RE; ASP.,
I settled that score more than a dekade ago. if you get the right scene IT smiled at me. (I told it I wouldn't fail)
I have found that if you are honest with it, it serves honestly.
I have found errors when in multiple, scaleable drives and workstations and Terminal servers, However we found our errors and haven't had any problem since. I really deep down think it doesn't needs any teaching.

again Good Luck!

Thanks again One,

I got my new pc built, running and inside the custom case. All is working great.
I have a few small things to do to the case itself, but those will have to w8 a bit.
Today I'm Installing programs and Trinity today.  ;D

sad to report I had to RMA my tablet, for it will not charge.  :(

I thought my tablet was dead because it wouldn't turn on when I pressed the button.

During one last thought before boxing it I pressed AND HELD the On/Off button in for about 4 seconds and, to my surprise and delight,
the tablet came to life and booted properly.

While some tablets might require a long key press others might simply be going through an "upgrade" process of installing new
processes, program updates, etc.
Some times these things take a bit of time so I've found that patience, while often overlooked, saved me that day! Tablet has worked
wonderfully ever since! - ASUS TF300T -

Just a thought....
