I'm way out of my league here. A place that might give you some insight:

I'm the one that asked you about the file halasst.lgc
The reason I asked you about it was because I did a search on my computer for all files containing information on msagent and that file popped up amongst the results. The best I can conclude from that is that the halasst.lgc file is the msagent file for the ultra hal assistant.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Best site to download from

Did you do a search for the file rather than manually looking? I have no idea if this is your problem or not. Where did the msagent files download to that Medeska(sp?) suggested?

Do you have a halasst.lgc file located at c/windows/application data/applogs? I think this is the msagent file needed. Not sure. Had you deleted all files of previous downloads prior to downloading again?

I don't know that the download site is the problem. What version of windows are you using? Have you made sure that you had deleted all previous info for Hal downloads prior to attempting to download the software again? Don't think that this should be that complicated. Must be something simple that we aren't grasping onto yet. Do you have a download box showing progress of the your download attempts? Does it complete?

Ultra Hal 7.0 / OmG! the later versions DO SUCK!

I believe the 216 is the enhanced chat version brain option. I think this is the brain option that is only good for chat. Don't think it was programmed to open or close programs or whatever.

I believe that it is admirable that this person is addressing concerns of individuals in this forum. Perhaps we haven't received the type of attention we would like for questions and concerns in the past. An attempt is being made to address this situation by Medeksza and I think we should appreciate this attempt and try to be a little less hostile (might be the wrong word) at this point and work positively towards improving our input. bob

Mr. Medeksza,

I think it speaks highly of the company and yourself that you are willing to address these questions and concerns in this forum. I believe that all users of the software appreciate it even if they're not totally satisfied with the software itself. bob

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Unable to download free version from winsite
« on: September 02, 2001, 10:53:08 am »
I finally managed to get the free version downloaded so the following message is old news. If someone else encounters this problem, I'd be willing to try to help so they don't have to go thru what I did. bob
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I had the free version installed - the one with all the bugs. I removed the program (unistalled) and deleted folders connected with zabaware. I've been attempting to download the revised (fixed) free version and am unable to do so and can't figure out why not. when you go to download the new version - you are sent to winsite.com (who cares). So I click on Download button and the computer starts spinning its' wheels while making no progress whatsoever. I'm not asked whether I want to download from the site or save to disk nor where I want the download to go to on my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bob

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Free Version Updates
« on: August 26, 2001, 11:47:21 am »
Sorry to bother you again. I've got the WebHal activated. I'm using the free
version at the moment and am very close to purchasing the package. Anyhow, will updates to the free version happen automatically or not and are there any updates for the free version coming in the future? bob

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Hal updates

Does anyone know if updates happen automatically for this software or if we
need to periodically check to see if updates are available at the website?

Ultra Hal 7.0 / running programs
« on: August 23, 2001, 04:50:41 pm »
I came across that, but it seems to depend on which brain you're using for Hal.
The enhanced chat (mine at least) won't open (run) programs. The 3.0 and 4.0
brains will open programs.
