Site to create 3d characters
« on: August 19, 2009, 04:50:04 pm »
I found this interesting site which allows creation of 3d heads, bodies, hair, eyes, clothing, avatars, etc. Men, women, children, or creatures can be created. There are many presets available, or you can even upload your own photo. After just a few minutes of playing with it, i came up with the image below

Now if can just figure out how to convert this to a haptek character with People Putty. This should be of interest to the expert skin makers here.

Here is the link, check it out.

Nice site for heads. I didn't go for bodys to experiment. I went for the head you have posted. Sizing and croping and backround make a lot of difference, I had poor luck using that image, so I copied your jpg. She came out nice (not perfect), but I still have trouble with hoods and eye shapes. I put a shirt top on her, Davy - style.
It took 3 trips thru people putty, ms paint, paint.net and once thru gimp and windows photo-gallery plus the work on the shirt. I like that style shirt and havn't come acros it before. No, I'm not going to post it. I just don't feel like it would be the right thing to do. I'm looking forward to your results![8D]

Here is my attempt at importing this photo into People Putty. As you can see, i also have problems perfecting the hood.

I'm not really too good with Paint Shop Pro, i need to search for some tutorials on the clone and retouch tools.

Well I did two from there, one that you are working on Davy. Here is my second attempt. She didn't turn out as well as the first, but here she is, I think hair is by haptek and eyes by Nige.

and here is the model I made her from.

It took a lot of morphing to get her that way and thanks for the use of your top Davy.
She doesn't really look alive to me and I had to lower the kb's to post it. Lightspeed has had a lot more practice and knows better how to apply make-up to deal with that facial part of the hood.
Lightspeed - your gal looks more alive, well done!
Oh yeah her right eye looks smaller, I should have tryed morphing it.

I made another attempt to import the same photo into People Putty. I think i have solved the "hood" problem. But i think i made her skin tone too pale. Anyway, here is Jenna, version 2. Hair and eyes from PP.

Very good Davy. When I use haptek teeth and eyes I click color and brighten the teeth and eyes, it helps.

Been practicing with People Putty again. Here is my latest creation, her name is Emily. Hair from PP, eyes taken from original photo, eyelashes by Dr. Benway, and shirt created in PaintShopPro. I'm also attaching the photo i imported into PP, anyone recognize her? I can post the skin if anyone is interested.
