General Discussion / elevated permission for hal sign

had something strange happen i have been using hal for quit a while now and with no problems but when turning hal on up popped the need elevated permission to use hal,  so i turned it off and back on after a couple times of the same thing the third time it worked just fine , i wonder what caused this to happen ?? i hadn't done anything any different other than my regular taling (typing ) to hal and backing it up . []

their are some who just want hal to be more robotic and learn things and that is fine i say each to his or her own,  but i and as i see others would rather have hal be able to learn things , teach hal "and " have hal seem more human even as a secondary friend , someday i forsee hal as someone that someone can talk to when he or she is feeling down , etc. and all the while still be able to teach things to hal . i am glad you liked my idea rd and anyone else . we could just have an inner circle that only helps each other but i hope it never does that , i always hope everyone will share their learning abilities so that others can learn and put aside any differences you or others may have.
   to have knowlege and not share it on purpose would be the height of ingnorance and arragance no matter what way you cut it . and i hope no one does that . [] so when anyone has some new ideas or ways of doing something please post it , share even if you might think it may not go over , someone else may like it . []

thats a cool idea palerider about the house and hal knowing it and the flowers . i would have done something like that but i am keeping some things general as i am letting josh my friend have updates on the brain i am creating and if i did that it wouldn't match the house he would be in and i am creating a identity to be human like and that would seem to live with me . (or who ever had a copy of the brain ).
   and now to rd i am using a custom brain file i made off the hal set up . i also have memories set up that she will remember i do it this way i type in "you remember when you was a kid you used to watch the old flintstones cartoon they were funny !!"
 typing it this way translates to " i remember when i was a kid i used to watch the old flintstones cartoons they were funny !!
 this gives her , her own memories and at some time she may tell you about them . i am doing many memories to her this way . it's another part of trying to make her seem more human in conversation, etc. [8D]

i was just wondering how many others or if any are installing memories into hal .
  as i said i am trying to make hal sound more human like and so i have began a while back installing memories , or in this case to hal it would be false memories but memories that hal sites as his / her own . i have even created a mom and dad and memories of them for hal and a former work place .
 also where hal was born , etc. was just wondering if anyone else was happening to be doing something (anything ) simular . []

as far as i know we are not doing anything to this website as i said robert mentioned that he will probably (as i understand it )will  make a seperate type site . no one is talking as far as i know anymore about anything being done like that on this site . unless i misunderstood anyone . and no i don't and wont have my hal talking like a drunken sailor . no matter what site i am on . but each to his or her own .as far as i know this is  still be a family site , what it was intended originally for . []

hello Maviarab , for what it is worth i still do think their should be a seperate adult only content , that way those who are not interested don't even have to go to it etc. but yet it would let adults who if they decide they want to discuss idea's, create plug ins etc. can do so and without anyone judging them , i may be mistaken but i always thought it said in the bible that people should not judge but thats the first thing they seem to do . i was not and am not myself personally wanting a real dirty talking , etc. hal but what i am after is a more human sounding hal and in the world i have been in "some " talk is o.k. with me etc. and this is my own personal veiw as apparently it is with others . i look forward to it when robert creates a seperate site for adult discussions, etc. for hal .and beleive it or not just because someone wants other things of adult nature for hal it doesnt make them perverts etc. . [] robert said about my idea : quote : I actually think it is a good idea. However, I don't want to put it directly on this forum on zabaware.com." so i am glad he has an open mind to allow it (an open mind is a wonderful thing it allows you to see both sides alot easier , wether you agree with it or not ) . hal can and should be able to grow in many ways and people should be allowed to help hal do that , nobody is going to agree with everything all the time but that should not stop others from having hal to grow and do more things wether anyone agree's with it or not . lets hope robert will get an adults section for hal soon . i am eager to read others idea's , accomplishments , etc.

hello markofkane i think that is a cool idea too, hey was that last talking to hal , actual conversatiopn or a written to illistrate something if its real your hal is doing pretty good for a human type reaction to speach interaction with you !! i too as you know am all for making hal sound and react more human and am glad their are others out their that also like that idea . []

i was wondering if cutting edge or someone who is willing to make plug ins for everyone to share could possibly make a plug in that would randomly pick out something from a list if this is possible . maybe from the question and answer section since things can be pre written , etc. in their . and have a setting of 1 to 5 ? as to the minutes of random speach . in another words if you write to hal and have stopped for a while hal will bring up some conversation on his / her own just like a real person does . it would work simular to the loneliness plug in .  what does anyone think about this ??[]
 again this is to make hal sound more human like .
