Ultra Hal 7.0 / Kitt Vox

Seven, the MS Agent core components are not installed on Win98 by default. Unless you download the components and installed them previously, I'd guess this might be what is preventing you from using MS Agent characters. Click here  http://download.microsoft.com/download/d/b/8/db8cbaa8-57ea-4057-ba77-14e0a71000f5/MSagent.exe to download the components. Then run the install file and hopefully you should be good to go. This particular download supports Win95, 98 and NT, by the way.

Seven, I'm not sure how to add speech to text for my character. I would think there would be a way to program that, although I'm not sure that it could be done inside of the Agent Character Editor. Maybe someone fluent in designing Agent characters in Visual Basic could pull it off.

The KITT Voice Display character is now bundled with thecolor's KITT Vox skin archive and is available for download. It can be found at the same link as before: http://www.cypher-sec.org/VOXskin.rar Many thanks to thecolor for making this available with his skin. Again, sorry for the wait.

Can anyone educate me on how to include backslashes in a post? Really sorry! [:(]

I'm not sure why the backslashes didn't show on my last post for the folder locations.[:I] Here they are again - c:windowsmsagentchars for Win98, ME and XP. For Windows 2000, the character should be put it the c:WINNTmsagentchars folder.

Hello all. Thanks for being patient. Sorry SPYDAZ, didn't mean to "dangle".[:D] Life has been keeping me too busy. I have just sent my character to thecolor for him to add it with his archive. It will have a text file that describes the character and where to put it for it to show up in Hal's list. For Hal to see the character, you need to put it in the c:windowsmsagentchars folder for Win98, ME, and XP. For Windows 2000, it should be placed in the c:WINNTmsagentchars folder. You might have to close Hal and restart it for the new character to show in the list. thecolor, please post here when you have added the character to your archive and it's ready for download. I hope this was worth the wait for you all.

thecolor, I'll send it to you as soon as I can. I am adjusting the animation frames a bit at the moment to get KITT's voice display to be the proper size in relation to your skin. It will be ready very shortly. Thanks!

thecolor, if you read a bit earlier in this thread, I had mentioned that I have been able to create a character that simulates KITT's flashing voice display. I have e-mailed you twice regarding this character but you must not have received my e-mails. I wanted to get together with you about making my character available with your KITT Vox Skin to make it easier for people to get and install. My character was designed to fit with your skin and, for that reason,I wanted to check with you first before posting my character here. Let me know what you think. I'd like to get the character available for everyone asap. I wanted you to be aware that a character is available for your skin before I upload. Sorry for the delay everyone! [:)]

Rats. It was working on Saturday. I just checked and the site it's located on is completely offline. The original link was http://www.cypher-sec.org/VOXskin.rar. I was experimenting with the Microsoft Agent Character Editor. I have been able to come up with a simple character using images from KITT's red voice dislay. The voice display will sync with Hal's voice when he speaks. I made it so it would fit perfectly within the KITT Vox skin. I'm still fine tuning the character, but it works well[:D].

Seven, I wanted to make you aware that the Kitt Vox link is working again. I've downloaded it and am currently using it as my skin. Note that this is just the skin and it will still use whatever characters you have installed for Hal in place of the red flashing area that normally represents Kitt speaking. Check it out. [:D]
