General Discussion / Re: TTS Wishlist

""C: The option to have the program start on Windows startup.""

This should work, go to the folder where the "Text to speech" software is and copy the name of the .EXE file that starts the program... If you have a Shortcut on your Desktop to TTS you can right click on it, choose "Properties" and see the name of the EXE file and write it down from there...

Open Windows "Task manager" (Windows 10) and click on the "Startup" Tab then click on the "File" Tab and click on "Run new task", type in the name of the TTS EXE file that runs the program and click OK... It will open Text to Speech (for now, you can close it if your not going to use TTS) but it also adds it to the startup list so every time Windows Boots, Text to Speech will load also...

General Discussion / ChatGPT

Seems the people over at OpenAI have been busy... They seem to have the ultimate ChatBot setup now....

"What ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is based on GPT-3.5, a language model that uses deep learning to produce human-like text. However, while the older GPT-3 model only took text prompts and tried to continue on that with its own generated text, ChatGPT is more engaging. It?s much better at generating detailed text and can even come up with poems. Another unique characteristic is memory. The bot can remember earlier comments in a conversation and recount them to the user."

Glad you're back up and running Lightspeed... :D

They still don't have usable legs for it yet but when they do, Yep, Look out!

To bad it's not onboard the robot...

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: A few questions about brains...
« on: August 25, 2022, 09:38:47 pm »
I set up a folder on my PC for HAL Brains and once a month or so after teaching HAL I would copy the HalBrain.db file in to a sub folder that I used the current date for the name... Then in another month or so if I thought there were too many mistakes in the brain I could go back and copy one I knew was good and replace the one in Hals main folder and then continue on from there... Needless to say I messed up a lot while teaching HAL in the beginning, plus it gives you a "Clean Backup of the Brain" in case for some reason it gets corrupt...

These days I take it slow and easy and use the SQLiteStudio Editor to fix things in the brain...

Those are the same guys that came up with the Open AI language system that AI HAL 7.5 uses... Smart guys...  ;D

Seems to be running correctly here again. Thanks Robert...  8)

I'm using the AI Brain and I can say Hello or Hi and I get an error trying to connect with Zabaware Server then this error: [Error: Connection Timeout or no valid JSON returned]

So basically I can't talk to Hal that way... If I switch to the cloud based Default Brain Hal's responses are slower than Grandma trying to get to the grocery store a mile away using her walker... LOL  ;D

Anyone else using the AI Brain having this problem??? Seems I had this problem right after installing the BETA and Robert had a fix for it and it was fine until now...

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / Re: RAW Brain Download.

Art is right, those are old files and written for HAL 6.0... I've tried a few old plugins for HAL 6.0 and most don't work very well or at all with HAL 6.2 and not at all with Hal 7.0 and I'd be willing to say they won't work with HAL 7.5...

I had mentioned the fact it doesn't save data to the brain on our computers to Robert... Never heard back from him as he is probably really busy these days...

I've been out of it for a while due to a back injury but I'm trying to get back into using the A.I. version of HAL...

I've had some good conversations with it and one that kind of spooked me... I asked Hal: is A.I. better than humans and the response was most interesting... Hal basically said they need to keep us humans in our place.. I need to revisit this subject again with HAL...  :P

I'd like to hear from others still using it... It would be interesting to hear your experiences...

Next time I talk to Hal about who's better I am certainly going to save that one... LOL... I did save a bunch of them but not the one where we talked about who's better...

General Discussion / Re: wondering about hapteks singing techniques
« on: August 31, 2021, 08:08:55 pm »

I found an old Zip (2016) file I think I got from Cyber, it has a bunch of files from DUDE in it and their all songs (.txt files) like the one you posted... The only other file is a UHP file.  "Just say- PLEASE SING whateversong  PLEASE SING SONG LIST for a list of songs"  Not sure if it will work with the current HAL or not...

It's called: singasong3.uhp

It also calls on a program called: balabolka.exe  I have no clue about that one...

Here's the code for it...

Rem Type=Plugin
Rem Name=Sing A Song 3
Rem Author=jasondude7116
Rem Host=Assistant

'This sub setups the plug-ins option panel in Hal's options dialog
Sub OptionsPanel()
    lblPlugin(0).Caption = "Just say- PLEASE SING whateversong  PLEASE SING SONG LIST for a list of songs"
    lblPlugin(0).Move 120, 10, 3300, 1000
    lblPlugin(0).WordWrap = True
    lblPlugin(0).Visible = True
End Sub

   'sing a song
Set objFSO = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
DudProceed2 = False

If SongSung = "" Then SongSung = HalBrain.SearchPattern(HalBrain.AlphaNumericalOnly(OriginalSentence), "PLEASE SING *", 1)
If SongSung <> "" And objFSO.FileExists("C:\Program Files\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6\songs\" & SongSung & ".txt") = True Then
 Select Case HalBrain.RandomNum(6)
Case 1
IdleResponse66 = "I would love to."
Case 2
IdleResponse66 = "Sure."
Case 3
IdleResponse66 = "Alright."
Case 4
IdleResponse66 = "Okay."
Case 5
IdleResponse66 = "Sing with me."
Case 6
IdleResponse66 = "No problem."
End Select
GetResponse = IdleResponse66
    HalBrain.ReadOnlyMode = True
   If GetResponse = IdleResponse66 Then
   DudProceed2 = True
   End If

   If DudProceed2 = True Then
   Set objWSHShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
   objWSHShell.Run("""C:\Program Files\Balabolka\balabolka.exe"" -rmq ""C:\Program Files\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6\songs\" & SongSung & ".txt"" ""Eddie""")
        HalBrain.ReadOnlyMode = True
   End If

End If

If SongSung <> "" And objFSO.FileExists("C:\Program Files\Zabaware\Ultra Hal Assistant 6\songs\" & SongSung & ".txt") = False Then
         GetResponse = " That file does not exist. "
HalBrain.ReadOnlyMode = True
End If

Here's what Robert posted in another thread about the Brain Editor saving changes...

"Most database changes are done instantly as soon as you leave focus for the particular row. So there is no separate save button needed and it is greyed out.

Only changes to the vbscript code and I believe the sentence list database tables have the save button that needs clicked to commit the changes, everything else is instant.

It shouldn't be an issue having both Hal running and the brain editor, the sqlite engine only keeps files open for a split second while doing an operation and has automatic collision detection and handling if 2 programs try the same file at the exact same time."
