Please help with torso model
« on: December 16, 2007, 01:10:07 pm »
Hello Haptek experts. One of my clients is interested in putting a custom people putty head on top of the female Haptek torso model from http://www.haptek.com/products/models/models_torso.shtml

Has anyone been able to do this, if so could you share a few pointers with me? Thanks.

If we could have a skin for her, we could
cut or copy and resize and paste. Same way
with the new eyes going around.

Robert the torso's and the heads are totally different. If you buy the software for a million dollars you can change the facial features of the torso haptar but that is the only way to do so. It is very limited so we are just happy with what we do have to use.
Sorry man.

I have a jpeg file that is the skin for the head-only model, no changes were done to the shape of the head. I would like to use this skin and the blonde hair on the torso model. Is this possible to do?

You might put the jpeg head skin available for download and people will apply it to a torso skin and you can select from the results.
Also what clothes would you like her to have ?

Email it to me and I'll be glad to give it a try. Just remember I have to have a collar on the torso girl.

Thanks for the help everyone. After reading through the wealth of information on this forum written by all of you guys, I have learned quite a bit about texturing. You guys are great.

As a test I took the "Alexis" texture I found on Jack's site, and replaced the face and eyes part with my exported peopleputty skin, and then also put a higher resolution version of the face back onto the texture since people putty's export was fairly low resolution. It worked pretty well.

What I am trying to do is get a character with this texture for its face on the torso body with a "professional business" outfit on. The default Haptek texture for clothes works ok as does the "Alexis" texture I found, but I don't want to use anything without permission from the author.

I am using the "hair5-9exp.htr" blonde hair with this character. I am also trying to use the diamond earings, but for some reason when I try to load the earings, a different hair model loads up and overlaps with the other hair. Is there any way around this?

Here are my original source files and the texture I managed to throw together based on Jack's skin.

Maybe this will help? It was all drag and drop. Second is hap_temp and the diamond .htr didn't come through but is is in Haptek folder
along with hap_temp.

Maybe it depends on the order things are done. This one came out bald so I added a couple wigs (woops) Used biz lady .htr and then Alexis skin and then yours. Then diamonds, then wig.

So you guys don't have to mess with hair continually, I'm sending you torso haptar with hair5-9exp already on it. You can switch back to different torso after if you want.
Sending to Jack, Ladyblond, Ted, and Neil.

I'll be looking back in on this topic.
If you have trouble placing earings on torso ears, I'll write a hap for exact placement.
