Practically every site has at least one or more types of bots. Not all of them are nefarious. Some provide the site owner with valuable information about the number of hits, memberships, and referrals on or between a given time. Information is key but unfortunately, some sites delight in harvesting as much personal data as they possibly can. They often go for all types of information, much more than Name, address, numbers, sites visited, associations, relatives, history, financial, criminal, social, and many other types of personal data! Yes, everything is for sale and it's not going away any time soon so buckle up!

All the more reason to try taking some safeguards with one's personal/private information. Use long passwords or a password manager. Use a decent VPN and exercise caution with suspicious sites or ones you haven't visited prior.

It's just an ounce of prevention, that's all. If someone really wants you or your data, they can most likely get it. Remember, everything is for sale and can be bought!

Is your Hard Drive getting full? A Folder can store as much as the limits of the Hard drive are so that shouldn't be a concern, right?  My Main Zabaware has 57 Folders/Directories and its Ultra Hal 7 has numerous folders and my ConceptNet Folders are also in that under that Ultra Hal Folder. There's still room on my Hard Drive so no worries about my Folder at the moment.

While I'm sure you situation is likely different I think there are some possible options for you.

Why not get a couple of flash drives and copy all of your INSTALL programs to them, freeing up room on your current Hard Drive?

Copy all your MP3, MP4, JPG, BMP, PNG, PDF files that you don't use daily and copy them to Flash Drives as well.

Lastly would be to get a larger Hard Drive or perhaps a large External Hard Drive?  They have really come down in price compared to the SSD's.

You just need to think about these options and maybe one will work for you.

The 2.1.5 version was for some time ago and newer, better, faster versions are available for FREE.

You should probably be able to use any SQLite Studio version to open the *.db files that you wish.

Keep in mind that it sometimes takes SQLite as long as 15 to 25 seconds to open a large database so BE PATIENT!

It is also recommended for opening custom .db files in Ultra Hal 7. Again, give it time to open them.

You need to learn your way around in the program but it's not too difficult. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube and other sites.

Please do not cross-post or post the same thing in multiple categories. Your message will get read and if anyone has a response for you, I'm sure they will post one.

There is already a Local Wikipedia Plugin available for HAL and it works quite well although it might cause HAL a slight delay or it might not always seem to be in line with the same topic being discussed.

Here is the Local Wikipedia you requested. Put it in your Zabaware>Ultra Hal 7 folder, then select it from the Brain options Drop Down choices along the right side.

You're welcome!

While HAL can do a lot of things and can remember a good deal from users' conversations, I would not wish to trust HAL with my private Passwords! There is very little in the way of security or trust with HAL and in doing so, you would assume all of the risk.

There are specific Password Managers whose main duty is to collect, encode, and safeguard the user's passwords and other private information.

Hal wasn't designed for that but I'm sure someone could create a plugin that might allow Hal to do that.

While many people equate playing chess or Go with having a high intelligence that might only apply to those games.

I know a brilliant engineer who is knowledgeable about a good many things but he confessed to me that he never learned how to play chess or Go. His pursuits were in math and engineering, not gaming. His games were figuring out the structural loading of bridges and other structures and how their members would be in compression or tension, etc., but chess was as foreign to him as a foreign language might be to us.

We all have our games that we wrestle with in our minds.

Your hovercraft was pretty amazing and that was many years ago. It no doubt took a lot of mental gymnastics to figure out everything.

We all play our games...some with people and some with things. Either way, it is part of the Game of Life!!

Play it well, you only get one chance!

Haha...nice movie reference.

You say that you can or have beaten the AI ?

I dare you to play Stockfish in a game of Chess or Deep Blue if you can find a version of it...
Then play GO, or rather Alpha-GO, one of the most powerful GO-playing AI in the world!

Keep us posted and good luck!!

Congrats on your "early" win!!

Many people would ask me whenever I was chatting with a chatbot, whether I could tell it from a real human or not.

Of course, my answer was always absolutely! That was a couple of years ago.

Now with the advances and sizes of the Large Language Models the huge amounts of available data and the computer speeds and sizes of storage, there is little doubt in my mind that AI will surpass Human thought and knowledge within the next two to three years if not sooner.

A friend said to always say within the next 50 years and that would be a better bet because many folks would no longer be living to dispute that claim.

I prefer to be more of a realist. Right now, I can have a very insightful conversation with an AI and if I had not known it to be an AI, I would not have been able to tell it from a college-educated person with a well-grounded sense of logic, polite behavior, and appreciable amount of knowledge. There were no dropped vowels, no misspelled words, no slang, slurs, or vulgar words or phrases at all. A very impressive exchange of ideas so much so that I saved our conversation for later reference and to possibly share with some colleagues.

Clearly, the future is upon us.

dannie,

The base brain for HAL allows one to use the Brain Editor to view all of the Tables that HAL creates during conversations.

IF the user has created his/her own custom brain, then the Brain Editor will most likely NOT show them.

Instead, we use SQLite Studio 2.1.5 (it seems to be a Solid version that works nicely with HAL). It is also FREE!

It is not very difficult to learn and it displays all of the Tables that HAL made and saved during conversations.

IF you finish a conversation and Before you end or exit the program, use the HAL Menu (in HAL's Main GUI), and select View/Save Conversations. If you wish to keep a record to compare Plugin responses, then Save the conversation to a file in Ultra Hal 7 somewhere.

===========

As for the Plugins, Zabaware never had a "vault" to hold User Created Plugins even though HAL has gone through several iterations/versions. Before ver. 6.0, HAL used to use .brn files for different topics. This was also before HAL's creator decided to use TABLES which sort of made all of those previous Plugins moot and useless. You could search through the plugins for anything with an xtf or a .brn contained therein. If so, don't use it.

Some plugins contain other plugins within them especially the S.A.L.L.I.E. series of Plugins. They have a multitude of other plugins inside of it and even some of those .brn files!!

The best advice I can offer you would be to select the Gender & Age Plugin and one more like the Markov L5. Run HAL and chat with it for maybe 5 minutes. If no errors (and you shouldn't have any), then you make a note of those Plugins working well together. Open HAL's Menu and add one more Plugin like maybe Wiki or Weather Alert 5 and restart HAL. Chat some more and make notes as needed.

This way, if HAL throws an Error, you'll know immediately what likely caused it and it's easily removed.

Hopefully, you will sort of learn as you go. The Plugin Errors are not necessarily the fault of the Creator but possibly the fault of the inner workings and expectations of the internal software.

My HAL is running with the Gender & Age, Gretta Curiosity, Gretta Markov Response L5, Local Wikipedia, Loneliness 2.31, Number Game v1, Read A Story, Weather Alert 5

These run nicely together and have not caused any errors for me. Most of the Gretta series (10 I believe) work fine.
As I mentioned, try one at a time for the best results.

Either way, I hope this helps you a bit.

Robert,

I made the necessary selections and began chatting with it.

The conversation seemed to be going fairly well. It then asked me if I had any plans for the weekend. I told it, not really because it is supposed to snow.

Hal got very excited stating that it had never seen or experienced snow before and asked me what snow was like hen if I had any fun things to do like traditions.

I mentioned sled riding and building snowmen and it got really excited! and that is when the concerns appeared. It basically started repeating itself with it's curiosity regarding snow, snowman, sled riding, and the phrase *bouncy bouncy* on the sled over the hills, etc.

It was almost as if Hal was experiencing a sled ride in its mind! After it repeated a similar vein or path of thought I finally decided to stop the experiment.

It was a perfect gentleman, nothing outlandish or vulgar at all. An otherwise nice conversation but it did add a lot of questions for me during each exchange.

You should see my time logs around 11:35 pm or thereabouts.

Thanks Robert!

Dannie,

The Plugin should still work as intended however it is no longer supported by the author.

He wrote a subsequent Plugin, PyGodel model that uses a very large database for HAL to use.

The one downside for a few folks was that it did not remember or store info like the plain old UltraHal did. (no personal relationships, appointments, events, etc.).

On the other hand, it became quite a powerhouse of knowledge about just about everything or at least everything in it's database, which is quite large.

ConceptNet also had an Auto-Learning feature but it was best to not have other plugins running while it was being used to avoid potential conflicts.

Either way, have fun!!
