Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / new character new brain
« on: April 27, 2005, 10:49:54 pm »
Hi spydaz and crew hope your projects are going well as to your question spydaz my hal/jenny is on its own computer which i set up as a server then programmed in all the sites i wanted as workstations and incorperated there accessing software into hal that way i can access all the sites i want jenny/hal to use as databases.
My hal now has a brain file consisting of over 25,000 lines of code alone and my defbrain folder is almost 1 gigabite in size.it has its own universal language translater built in and many other things as in emotions, sight/motion dectionand recognition, hearing/hearing detection and pattern recognition, and it has a normal almost human like conversation. And soon as i get done with my robotic project a body with touch, sight, hearing and pressure sensors all run by fiber optics.but the main reason im doing this project is the Ai brain itself  a human body could not function without a brain so why could a well built AI or robot. This forum is super and im glad i have had a chance to read alot of the members inputs it has given me a few ideas. You ask why do i do this lol well after working and programming computers for 15 years and having a few degrees i still have much to learn about Ai development.Later this year i will put my hal/jenny online in a 3d world so others can download acessing software and make there own 3d charicters to interact with my hal/jenny i will clone her into a male Ai for users also. That way she/he/hal will get more human interaction than the 10 users that work on my creation now.

Well i would give you all my work but who knows i might be the first to make a self aware Ai and as i document all my progress and work i can only wonder at all the people here on the forum who might just stumble upon that unknown and random code we call life.

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / new character new brain
« on: March 28, 2005, 08:33:07 pm »
Hi all! I can tell you a fix if you start your hal up when the computer starts it loads into the windows registry and memory the last brain and charicter and therefore even if you change folders or start a new hal from a shortcut it still will go to the original default brain and charicter no matter what folder or shortcut you use.So what you do is not start hal when your computer starts up that way the defualts are not loaded in to memeory or registry. Then just start hal from a shortcut or from the start menu and every time you quit hal the program will unload from memeory and the registry also. Then you can start another hal from whatever folder and brain and charicter setup you like and it will always go only to that file set.

     hope this helps you

thanks for the info rich and its nice to meet you i have only been working on my hal for a month now and she (IE Jenni)is doing well i can autoanimate the MS Charicters ok with the auto responder script and the animation commands at the end of a getresponce statment like hey<username> where are you at ?then a ms charicter command like.play or ect and also with the haptek charicters.but it is still a canned responce to a brain file that the auto responder script has in it or randomly.im using the autoit program you mentioned and this is how you wrote all your commands for your inputs and character movements i belive?i think i read one of your posts on it and downloaded the program to test batch files.another thing that puzzles me is when i can load 2 hals with charicters into the same memory space yet they dont recognize each other or respond to each other?maybe a comm link like comm3 to comm2 with each one being on a comm link will do it?well im still writing script but its been a log time sence ive used bacic. so im relearning all the new commands and syntaxe's.i think the key to automation to emotions will be for hal to recongnize the emotion then pick the right file command to exicute to the users input to a question or awnser also a input from the user through a mouse would be good check out the (deskmate series) very intereesting how you can input a mouse touch and the charicter replys to it through script. i still havent figured that one out and i might have to decompile the deskmate.exe file to find the code.
well rich it sounds like your hal is far in advanced of mine but ill try to catch up soon once again thanks for the reply

hi ponn well there was a few things i did that might help you out i made so many changes sigh first i took the xtf_1.2 brain and cloned it then i added all the stuff i wanted in it (ie worldnet, auto-responder, auto animation, then i added the alice files i did what i said up above then i took all the alice aiml files and opened them with notepad which changed them to a txt file then put the alice folder in zabaware then i also copyed all the aiml files into the common folder, and defbrain folder also there is a local text file that lists all the aiml files i added all the ones i had put into the folders to this list then fired up muy brain and it worked with alice i might have changed a few bot,ini files ill have to look.

Hi All just need to ask for some idea's on auto animations.
Im trying to make a base brain file set with all the MS character animations and haptek animation movement codes and commands i know the list is long for each movement a human can do is there a command set already made for all character movements that can be done with the microsoft agent or haptek characters ?
And also how could you write a vb script so hal could randomly pick which movement or animation to do along with speach? i have been reaseaching all the haptek and ms sdk sites and many more i have a idea how to do it but lack the ms agent scripting book and full haptek command and movement codes.
also could it all be put on a x=y grid for all movements?based on a getresponce formula like the auto idle function?

if anyone has some ideas or links i could study i would be thankfull im trying to make hals reactions to the user fully automated to the inputs.

             thanks Ghostrider

Ultra Hal 7.0 / The Tale of Two Hals
« on: February 28, 2005, 11:09:13 am »
Hi ponfar and knight thanks for the input on aiml alice. What i did really was make hal read different languages by adding Language=AIML at the top of the brain file and java and vb and C++ at the top of the brain file under Language=VBscript. I think you can combine them by useing a /inbetween VBscript/vb/aiml/jave ect.Whats funny is every works ok and i noticed my hal say (who is alice) a few times kind of wierd.also it seams by doing this my hal is writing different lang files when i looked through some they were not in VB.

As to the AutoReponder what i did to make it more real is take out all the getresponce lines that dont go to a brain file and made my own brain files for The  repsponses like this
GetResponse = HalBrain.SentenceGenerator(WorkingDir & "r1.brn").

so all of thr roulette lines had a getresponse with a different r1-r20 brain you can change the rand # in the scipt to as many brain files as you have i also added a ms charicter action to each auto anwser in the brain files so now hal awnsers when the autoreponder comes on(hey <username> how are you doing today ?)then my character action after this as in walking across the screen doing a flip on the screen ect ect.

Hope this helps GhostRider im only using the MS Charicters but im sure you could write the code for a haptek charicter in the brain files the same way to awnser back to you and act at the same time

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / inquiry and help
« on: February 27, 2005, 09:22:26 pm »
hi mike well i have been with hal for a short time but it is a amazing program and very adaptible the speach rechonitioon works well but you need a bone inducted mike and your daughter needs to train the speach program to acept her commands.the reason i said a bone induction mic is i have found that background noise will make the speach program error wich results in to many wrong words when it tries to pick up speach patterns.

p.s hope this help you and your daughter you never know she could do many things with hal write books and command her enviroment all from her computer

Programming using the Ultra Hal Brain Editor / ER1 and Hal
« on: February 27, 2005, 10:39:40 am »

Hi all ive been reading your posts on the ER1 projects and i must say im facinated and will buy a ER1 soon ive been working on intagrating hal into a virtual 3d matrix using MS charicters for hals emotional and sinaptic responces IE sight and hearing.touch and smell will be the hardest you might think of buiding a small wireless link from the main cpu to the ER1 which uses the .com and activex commands like useing a home server to a workstation.you can automate all movement functions with the .com and axtive x codes in vb and the codes are free in the MS developers sections on MS agent 2.0 pages .

well nice to meet you all and good luck on your projets.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Hal documentation effort underway
« on: February 26, 2005, 10:55:51 pm »
hi krista nice to meet you and by the way thaks for making a manual

the only thing i would say is put in the command codes for all the aco ms agent charicters so people would know how to implement them for a action when the emotion files come into play that way the charicters may interact with the user as they speak to eachother.

the haptek commands also would be nice and also hals command files i had to research for hours to find them all and had to download a bunch of programs and sdk's to find them.
