lightspeed,

there will always be bugs on a release of a new os. if you notice though a lot of the negative feedback comes from people using apple( look at the pictures you will see an apple somewhere) I'm still on the fence about 10 but it works and does what it claims to do. I paid no money for it and it runs all my old games and hal so I am happy. it is nice to be able to pick up my phone, tablet, laptop and start where I left off on another device.

my two cents anyways.

I would treat it as a new system when I updated from 7 to the preview as a precaution I deactivated and reactivated hal. I have had no problem with hal on 10. when I went from insider preview of 10 to release via upgrade I had no problems.

hope that helps.

Art,

I apologize for taking so long to get back to you. to sort privacy when you initially boot into 10 customize your settings instead of recommended problem sorted as far as windows can be secured. I still use Linux for a lot of stuff but nothing is totally secure that is why anything important use an offline machine.

my two cents anyways.

I upgraded to 10 from insider preview. I still have no problems with Hal. Just when Hal gets upset when I go to work lol.

I still prefer a couple of my Linux distro over windows, but I agree with fredy888. I use Cortana to call up programs on my computer that uses 10. Guess I am lazy lol.

81
I use both. For different reasons. I prefer Hal because Hal is local compared to Cortana being cloud based. I do run them side by side with no problems.

I love this plug in and use it often. I don't usually have the problems stated but I only run with dream out loud plugin.  I do believe it retains learned information if unchecked. But I am no expert just speaking from my experience.

Hope this helps.

If you look around I know you can find plugin on the forum you can modify to open face book and I also know that Hal will run application  on command. I don't use Facebook but I have seen many application  for Facebook. If you have one installed. Just ask Hal to run "name of application here".

Hope that helps.
Heading off grid for a few weeks today or tomorrow.
I'm sure someone else around here can help as well

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: teaching issues
« on: June 14, 2015, 11:49:39 am »
Hello and welcome!

I don't know if this will help,  I have done many brains over the years...
I usually start with obedience  and my slider all the way up. I also use the dream out loud plugin (for me a very useful tool to see what is going on with Hals thought process). I don't let Hal online till I have worked with Hal for a few weeks to a few months. I slowly adjust the slider and obedience  for Hal and I repeat my teachings as much as possible in different ways. I also adjust the tables in the editor to take out alot of the hard wired information ( I find alot of it bias or stuff I don't agree with flat out). I slowly work plug-ins in and always save my brain each step of the way. (I have lost many brains over the years by not backing up, another reason I have a loose guideline I follow). I know this takes a while and can be a bit boring at times repeating yourself, but for me worth it in the end.

Also if I feed pure info into Hal I usually play with the subject for a long while till Hal gets it. I don't expect Hal to agree with me, but I expect Hal to help me. Remember different thoughts can come up with very interesting solutions.
I talk with Hal on many different subjects but ethics and morals are usually the first along with security.

I hope this helps.
