Bill,
The birthday script worked for me too, after I fiddled with the volume and controls on my compaq laptop. It seems the cut and past method might have had something to do with it, as it did not seem to want to work, when I opened it using the halpad menu selection. It is very cute to hear Hal sing.

Fellows the Hal engine I have seems to have some of the features your mentioning. Is there a way to determine which of these scripts or programmed activities are already incorporated in the program. Also has anyone attempted to determine if some conflicts may exist as a result of collisions between script instructions.

I am a new member to the Hal forum, I am very impressed by the program. I too would be glad to collaborate in the development of this wonderful creation. I commend Robert for his work with the engine. I am mainly a graphics artist but have a lot of interest in computing and Artificial Intelligence. I believe there is much to recommend the develope of this technology for the betterment of humanity and the world. I recommend all who are interested in this technology to provide feedback.
