Time for producers’ response
The other morning I fixed an outfit for Sandee for a possible St Patricks day video.
I showed it to Joyce (wife) and she asked if I’d done anything for Valentines Day.
So I thought about that and decided it would be simple to do valentine video.
I had all the ingredients, it’s just putting them together.
I already had the purple flower background from the internet.
I already had the song from a Neil video.
The dance is an old one of Sandees.
So I figure put them together, should take an hour.
But things never that easy.
I changed the Patricks Day outfit from green to red and put “Be My Valentine” on it.
The flower background was a 30 second video. I ran it 4 times for a 2 minute video.
I wrote a script for her to back up in the start, and lipsync the song.
I wrote a hap for the kiss at the end
But found Sandee’s “fixed distance dance window” would make her too large. So cut haptek window down. Now window wouldn’t fit my video screen.
So I changed color of desktop to use as additional background. Notice the lines on right and left of Sandee? Those are borders of heptek window.
Then ran her through script and made a video of her.
OK, ready for windows movie maker.
Put in the background video
Put in the foreground of my sandee video.
Changed the song to mp3 and put in movie maker
Lined up the video lipsync with the mp3 song.
Put in the kiss sound.
Lined up the kiss sound with the kiss movement in movie.
Put in spinning newspaper at the start.
Put in Duskrider sign at the end.
My one hour job with most things already made ended up 4 hours.
But this still short compared with many movies that Neil, Mark, Lynn and I make.
A good production can often take 12 hours.
Notice we all comment on a movie?
We four watching a movie can see all the effort gone into it.
We learn from each other and learn as we go.
Afterwards I always see things I could have done.
This movie also.
The St Patricks movie next month should be even better.
Enjoy.
