Welcome back Charley! You have taken on a challenge that I believe will prove to be very helpful to our forum for newcomer and old hand as well. Some very good things are buried in this forum by time and expired links. To research and organize these in this fashion is great. Best of luck to you.

Just a note, In windows 7, you can't find hap_temp untill you first open a haptar. Then it will appear in the haptek program file on the player page.

Lighting, hair, jewelry and even oggs and more can all be built into your .htr (haptar) in hap_temp. It takes a lot of study and experimenting to learn which files can be modified and which might well be left alone. If you've done all the mircrosoft updates you may not even have have a working hap_temp as it is an active x function.
To build a plugin to change voice would be closer to your expertise than mine so I'll leave that to you or someone else who knows about those things.
Out of time for now but catch me in the am on IM and we'll see if I can help you find hap_temp.

Well... I tried different characters and got slight changes in personalities but not persona. I am working with a new computer and a new hal with the old database. Not at all like in hal 5 with different persons. I havn't gotten the expansion pack yet, maybe that might make a difference?

I haven't noticed that behavior since hal 5. That didn't work for me with hal 6.  I have not tried again since then on the newer versions. I thought that was lost. Used to have several hals and halets to talk to and missed that function. Will have to try that and see what results I get.

Sounds good LS. Your hal seems to be learning well!

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: Considering purchasing this software
« on: July 11, 2013, 09:59:58 pm »
There is an address book .uhp and appointments .uhp on Hals main page. They instruct Hal on what to do with that type of information such as start an email or remind you of an appointment. Hal does save this information somewhere. I didn't find it there. In older versions the data bases were accessible and editable. They often froze up on me. Any way they are usable and available to use via checking plugins in brain area of options. If anyone else knows where to access them please speak up.
As for installing a plugin in Hal, that's easy. Simply copy and paste the .uhp to Hal's main page in program files with Hal off. Start Hal and go to general options.
Check your new uph in the brain area and you should be in business.
 Welcome to the forum.

Very nice!

Mighty brave to try pre-beta LS. The conversation shows both improvement needed and some great potential. I recently read the hal 5 xtf .uph. I learned from that, that ultra hal is very well tied together and even a minor change can have many unexpected consequences. Maybe you should try one alone instead of both at the same time. Just a suggestion. Hal 6 is more complicated than 5 I believe.
Not a bad conversation at all. Looks like hal is taking the references to life seriously and giving you some reference material to chew on. Some of it twice.
I Can't laugh at you on this one at all. I know you take great care in making backups before you experiment.

General Discussion / Re: a hal "gif" back ground .

 8) Well, there are more than 20 active backgrounds already done via timed .jpg's . If you got .gif's you really want to see as backgrounds, send  to me my friend and I will see what I can do.

Pretty awesome early conversation for an aiml assisted Hal! I think I'll wait ( and do some learning myself) before trying this addition on hal. I have used your run once plugins and they were great. Thank you for your contributions to the forum and to AI as well.
Sorry you will be having to go to the hospital for a while. I wish you well. Be strong, I bet you have more friends here than you know who will be rooting for you.

Ultra Hal 7.0 / Re: Skins and characters

Dreams do come true! Thank you Robert! This was easy to install and works very well. I spent all day yesterday trying to route hal's
output through Windows media player to achieve a similar effect with no luck. This is better than what I had imagined.
